RMweb Premium Hippo Posted May 1, 2017 RMweb Premium Share Posted May 1, 2017 I was lucky enough to book a ride or 2 in coach 353 back in 2013 when LU did Steam on the Met. I have always fancied recreating it and have slowly been building up a DCC sound train. I have L150, Sarah Siddons, and 20189, so I have now turned my attention to the coaching stock. 353 as far as I know isn't available RTR or as a Kit. Kernow are producing a 4-TC set which will be available later in the year, and I'm hoping I can comission someone like Electra Graphics to do some Teak overlays. Has anyone else thought about or actually modelled the LU coaching stock? Thanks in advance Owen
JoshHamilton99
Get a Britannia Models TC, and some Phoenix teak paint.
RMweb Premium Hippo Posted May 1, 2017 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted May 1, 2017 Get a Britannia Models TC, and some Phoenix teak paint. That an expensive way of doing it. The Kernow set is £270 ish quid, the Brittania Models one is £440!! Also I have atempted the a teak style paint job before and it ended badly. I believe that the actual 4TC set used by LU has a vinyl wrap.. So why not do the model in the same way.
OliverSR
There are kits for the Jubilee stock of which No 353 is. They are available from Mousa Models so that's also a option possibly. http://www.mousa.biz/fourmm/coach/kits/met_coaches4.html#met-jubilee-third OliverSR Edited May 2, 2017 by OliverSR
Guest
A 4TC with a teak vinyl wrap? I just had to Google that. Oh dear God, it's horrible! That said, it would certainly make for a fascinating model...
