Print size %

Recommended Posts

I need some help with a conversion please;

I have a drawing that is 3mm to the foot, I want to print it out at 4mm to the foot, so what percentage would I need to increase the print size by?

Thanks

Tony

Not to be pedantic but the OP was asking how much to increase the print size "by" and it could be taken that the response was meant as an increase "to" 133%.

Increasing the size "by" 133% may not be what was intended, perhaps the OP has deduced that in any case?

You are absolutely correct, but the simple fact is that every copy machine I have ever found needs 133% entered for the enlargement and not some other relationship between 4 and 3,

Let's just say I answered the question that the OP thought he had posed.

I thought that I had replied to Martin's question, but yes, I did ask "by", but the implied "to" in Andy's reply did answer the overall query. The image has been printed out at 133% of the original and modelling is underway.

Thanks to both for getting it sorted for me.

Regards,

Tony
