Some final shots from yesterday's operating session.

Tynebank is completed, and South Gallions nearly so,

It's time for a new model; I have started a couple but backed down, Tyne Dock arches was one of them but this was proving an Arch Too Far.

So it's back to where it all started for me and that's the Blyth & Tyne, I'm hoping to model some colliery exchange sidings somewhere between  Earsdon Junction and Seghill, working title 'Low Seaton'. Watch this space!

Cheers

As usual, Ian, this just blows me away.
Colliery sidings 'eh?
You have the USA already.
Mike Edge makes a kit of those gorgeous Pannier Tanks.
Hattons Barclays.
I'm looking forward to seeing you produce the next masterpiece. I hope, too, that we will still see the workings from Tynebank, in future.

You're very kind, I have a load of industrials which I want to give a run out. It will be a slow burn project so I hope you have plenty of time!

Gives me another perfect excuse to keep kicking the s**t out of the cancer.
The atmosphere you create here and in the London layout is palpable.
I think I have posted to you way back, that we both seem to share a love of cramped city locations.
Keep working your magic.

I hadn't realised Dave Alexander had passed away.  A small photographic tribute. R.I.P.

I, too, hadn't heard Dave Alexander had died.
RIP Dave. He was, in my meetings with him, a gentleman.

Ian.

I must be loosing it.

I never realised South Gallions was yours even though I've been following it very closely.

Both the layouts are very much after my own heart.

Where you have set South Gallions is kinda where I have set Elbow Lane.

Keep the good work up.

Hi Ian, hope you're well.

Another great episode of Tyneside - so atmospheric.  Shame the Arches isn't happening, you will understand that they are part of any South Shields lad!

Yeah, it was really an operational thing with the arches, they would have ended up being a one trick pony, maybe a diorama would have been ok, so it's Blyth and Tyne, but you know I would like to do an incline bank foot as well

Having heart op on Wednesday so I hope to have plenty of time afterwards to get some projects finished. Thanks for messaging, take care shipmate!

We both worked for the same shipping company, used to enjoy chatting about ships and people we had sailed with, last of the old school

Because, the coast line from South Shields to Sunderland was also electrified, two Parcel Vans were ordered from Eastleigh  with slight detail differences and delivered in 1956 and 1957. Here is a rare shot of them both together at Tynebank.

Good luck for Wednesday. Let's have more of your fantastic layouts please.

A Tyne Dock Arches diorama would be nice (from another Shields lad).

Thanks Tom, looking forward to some more pics of your layout!

Looking forward to seeing some progress photos of South Shields Victoria and Neil, the Forest of Dean in 7mm!

Had heart surgery in Oct. and am feeling much better. .

Compliments of the season to you both

I'm glad your surgery was successful Ian.
Have a good Christmas.
