NEWS

Yesterday Andy York visited us to photograph some of our layouts for appearances in BRM.  He photographed "Depot Lane", my layouts "Jubilee Road" and "Annesley Woodhouse" and Shaun's "Ripley"

It was a very enjoyable day and if the sample images we have already received are anything to go by, the photos will be amazing!

Thanks to Shaun for letting us turn his house into an exhibition hall for the day :declare:

Cheers

Simon

Hi Simon I have just caught up ready and enjoying the pictures of your layout. The modelling skills within the layout build are excellent with a keen eye for attention to detail. Enjoy the exhibition at the weekend mate.

I’m still very inspired by this layout. Out of interest, how many locos do you have to run on it, and what is the realistic maximum that you can have in the scenic section at one time?

Looking back at the images and the layout I would say 11 locos on scene is a maximum - it might increase by one with more bo-bos and less co-cos

It's a wonderfully simple concept that can work across many diesel eras though I myself am not a fan of 66 dominated scenes.

Operating the layout in the 1970s, 80s era with the smaller loco classes like 08, 20, 24, 25 we normally have around 5 or 6 loco's, and a few wagons to make it more interesting.

Here is Pauls "Colas" fleet  running just 4 so there's room to move about still.

Cheers Shaun.
