RMweb Premium Hilux5972 Posted June 8, 2017 RMweb Premium Share Posted June 8, 2017 In the latest issue, there is a layout called Leicester (Belgrave Road). On that layout there is a terminus station with a big overall roof. Is anyone able to tell me whether this was a kit? Or was it scratch made? Nowhere in the article does it say this. chrisf
It looks kit built to me but I would not swear to it. The first thing I spotted in this issue is that someone fondly believes Belgrave Road to be of Great Central parentage. Not so: it was Great Northern. Hello, is that Trading Standards? caradoc
Indeed chrisf, the front cover proclaims 'Great Central Terminus' when as you say it was nothing of the kind.
vaughan45
Unfortunately it does appear to be the 'Railway Muddler' rather than Hornby Magazine Edited June 8, 2017 by vaughan45
brigo
As the model is based on an actual station and the model overall roof looks like that of the full size one, it would suggest to me it is scratchbuilt. It is easy these days to get the parts for the roof structure laser cut in MDF or plastic. Brian
