andyram
I am pleased to officially announce that, despite various rumours and a few doubts, the Weston on Trent Model Railway Show WILL be taking place this year. This ever growing event will take place on SATURDAY 11TH NOVEMBER 2017 from 10.30am - 4.30pm. Once again it will take place at Weston on Trent Primary School, Forrester Avenue, Weston on Trent, Derbyshire DE72 2HX with all proceeds going to the school. As some people will know, I am leaving the school in July to pursue new challenges after a difficult academic year. My decision to leave had thrown the show into doubt and when I formally resigned in May it looked certain not to happen. However I have been asked by several members of staff if I will organise the show this year and I have agreed. If it is possible to run the event from afar I will not rule out running the event beyond this year. At present we have several layouts booked and all of our regular traders will be continuing to support the event. I am looking for further layouts to come and help me out this year because I have limited time to put the show together. All offers of support will be welcome. If (and it remains an if) I am to bow out after this year's event I want to bow out on a high. I want to top our record 21 layout haul. We have an extra classroom to fill this year. Let's make this year's show the best one ever!

Would you like me to give the show a plug on the Rolleston-on-Dove Station website? Kind regards Clive Yes please Clive. All publicity is good. I look forward to you bringing Coton. If you wanted to bring Rolleston again instead your original pitch is still available. Up to you I happy to accommodate either layout.
Clive Baker
Thanks Andy, but I will stick to Coton as I have already put the details out on various social media sites so wouldn't want to confuse the public.
andyram
No problem Clive. Can you resend the layout information form to my email so I can put it on file.
andyram
Time to bring this show thread up to date, and up closer to the top of the list. Things are progressing very well as we prepare for the sixth Weston on Trent Model Railway show. Despite no longer being employed by the school, I have discussed the show with the relevant parties and all systems are go. So far I can confirm that 19 layouts have confirmed their attendance. We are awaiting final confirmation from several others. With an extra classroom available, this year's show looks set to be the biggest in the show's history. As it could be my final one as organiser it would be great to top all of the previous efforts. A reminder that the show will take place on SATURDAY 11TH NOVEMBER at WESTON ON TRENT PRIMARY SCHOOL. Full show details will be published soon.
andyram
A total of 22 layouts have now been confirmed for this year's Weston on Trent show which officially makes this year's event the biggest one ever.

andyram
The layout total has now grown to 24. A full layout list will be posted once the floor plan has been completed. Please come along and support our 6th exhibition - my final one as organiser.

andyram
Thanks to one of our exhibitors, the show should be getting a plug on one of Andy Twigg's shows on BBC Radio Derby.
andyram
Another update: Floor plan almost complete. 24 layouts now in place. A full list will be posted soon. Unfortunately one of our smaller traders have had to pull out as has the 25th layout. This means there are a couple of small spaces to fill. I may take my under construction layout, Gairloch, to fill the layout gap unless another can be found. The trade may prove more difficult to cover.

Jeff (binny) Thanks Jeff. Like I said on your show's thread - the Burton show was excellent and my only disappointment was that I could not stay longer. I did not get to chat to the two layout owners you suggested as they were busy. I look forward to seeing you on Saturday. Hopefully the day will be a success.
