A body only option perhaps as they were built as 6 wheelers but were later transfered onto bogie frames.

an interesting subject. Looked through my collection of books and found drawings in Highland Railway book. Could be done as a bogie coach , or a 6 wheeler(assuming standard Midand Railway version).

just completed a SR 2-BIL, as had a request , as it would be a nice model in gauge 1. Suprised at number of small differences between 1st batch and other batches. The Hornby model is one of the later batches.

I have wanted to do the District/LTSR train coaches for a while. Along with the District electric loco. One set of the coaches ended uo on the S&MR duringf WW2, and a couple of them survived (modified) till line closed, and then transferred to Long Marston Depot.

Another request was for an ex NER P3(LNER J27). Eventually got hold of drawings which combined with some others sent to me, showed just how many small variations there were. Will be interesting to see which ones Oxford eventually do(apart from the ones already shown).

I started with one of the last versions as running in BR days with 57A boiler.

Simon, would you consider doing the loco in SFDP?

I can set any available option on . If you mean Smooth Fine Detail Plastic, then that is always set for N scale items.

I was considering Smooth Fine Detail Plastic in 4mm scale.  Cleaning up a Versatile Plastic print of this loco would be especially hard as there are panel strips and rivets all over. I'd like to see the SFDP price; if it's too high, then I'd build the thing from scratch, but it would be good not to have to.

for 4mm scale it depends on how big the design is and therefore the price. as a modeller I have had no problem cleaning up rough surfaces, and it is far far easier to paint with any water based paint.

I have found that detail such as rivets actually still leaves an impression(possibly better than original) which shows up when painted.

Just found your thread and the 310 EMU looks interesting. Have you considered the 303?

considered doing them, but need decent drawings

Also I need definite interest, as I have a lot of designs in pipeline.

Now I'd certainly invest in set of O gauge bodies for a 303 if they were to come out a similar price to the 310, it would have to be the post refurb condition without the wrap around cab windows though. I am actually tempted to get a print of just one vehicle of the 310 and see how it comes out, it doesn't really fit my area and would have to be the flat fronted widescreens again. What else do you have in the pipeline in 7mm? Anything that would suit the Scottish region in the later 80's/early 90's?

I would doboth versions of the 303. It usually does  notinvolve too much extra work, and I try to do complete sets/variants/ if possible. Trouble is when I find far more ersions than originally thought!

All my designs are done in 7mm scale. Nothing definitely planned, I tend to bounce around, as I have a broad rangeof interests, and variety keeps me going. Just about to start on a D600 Warship, hopefuly all the curves wont be a problem this time.

Open to ideas, but apart from mods to original designs, put 1970s as a cut off period for new builds, in effect 1st generation.

I will keep my eye out. Just priced up the 4 vehicles for the 310 and think I will hang fire for now. Need to get a few things off the workbench but definitely interested. And if you do get to the 303 I'll have to have a go, even if its to drag round with a 26!

Couple of Swindon related designs, one steam)my favourite), one diesel(aequest)

Collett Goods now done, a loco I have been wanting to do for a while, classic GWR tender loco. Swindon do love rivets! I still have my old Mainline model I have had since originally pre-ordering in all those years ago, then not being able to get one,, and eventually getting it at Hamleys!

Other loco was a request, why do 1950s diesels have to be so complex? All those curves in all directions at once.

Almost forgot. Also done a request class 23 Baby Deltic.

After a distraction to play round with some ideas for a modular staircase and walkway system, backon track with District Railway B stock.

Not that I am finished with stairs designs as I will use what I have learnt to do some complete ones for specific buildings, but in smaller scales, so not wasted time, but do find railway railcars and coaches far far easier.

I have just completed work on met stock, but did not stop at doing just 1904/5 stock, continuing right up to the experimental 1925 saloon stock, as each design evolved from previous.

Onlydesigns left out are the original open ended 1904/5 stock, which could be converted from versions with enclosed ends. Also detail of the open ends is scant, so a certain amount of guesswork would be required especially with respect to end of body on open ends.

ended up with 27 different designs, in 6 different scales

http://www.rue-d-etropal.com/3D-printing/passenger-stock-lt/3d_printed_metropolitan-emu.htm

Some stock was used on Mersey Railway during WW2, and withdrawn stock often ened up in various parts of the country as workshops, or other office type use.

As you are probably aware Bachmann are introducing powered versions of the EFE tube stock under the EFErail label. A lot of this stock (1938/1959/1962) operated with other stock. Notably with the 1960 Cravens DM's and various pre-1935 'standard' trailers. There was also the 1935 experimental streamlined stock from which the 1938 stock was derived. The chassis of this stock was dimensionaly identical so is it possible for a 3D print to be made to fit on the chassis of this model? The 1960 Cravens DM's in particular as only a few were built were used and modified for experimental and engineering use.

Talking of drawings, I think Southern Railway fans have best selection, in particular ex LSWR . SECR not too bad, but not as much for LBSCR. Into SR days then thanks to Mike King there is a good range of drawings, so made job of doing some exLSWR coaches converted to pushpull easier.

http://www.rue-d-etropal.com/3D-printing/passenger-stock-sr/3d_printed_SR_push_pull_coaches.htm

Then I got back to a loco I have been wanting to do, and has also been requested, namely the Beattie well tanks. Oddly, and it has been mentioned on this forum, drawngs are rare, in particular in the preserved condition, so have cobbled up from different drawings and photos. I had planned to ask at RM/Peco stand at Easter if there was any chance of new drawings being published, but a certain virus got in the way.

8 different versions of classic GWR Siphon G milk/parcels van now up and running

another request, this time for some LYR 6 wheel coaches. Had to d quite a lot of digging, as the basic drawings are a bit basic, but hopefully I have got them correct. Just a start, more to do.Plan to do a lot more LYR coaches.
As usual available in several scales, and this time also 2mm/ft .

after completing the LYR coaches, I found book on the Garstang and Knott End Railway, with drawings of locos and stock. I know there might be some who pick out errors in the drawings but I have not seen any other drawings of the locos that ran on the line. The drawing of the coach seems to match parts that were in MRN in 1959.

A great pity that this and the other G&NER models are only available in that horrible grainy  plastic.
