Yes, it was 825. Shouldn't be far off now. I dare say that whether or not Paignton wants to extend 2253's hire period will depend upon how quickly the ex-Barry Large Prairie which it recently acquired from the WSR is turned around. That said there's no guarantee that the S160 will return to the NYMR in five years even if Paignton doesn't want it.

I also got a couple of screencaps of the odd bedfellows this afternoon as well. First at Grosmont while the B1 was just arriving in the distance,

And then at Goathland on their way to Pickering.

I really hope the Yankee Dan returns here once Paignton have enough engines of their own, cause I really think it belongs here, especially as I'm sure 3803 is still up for sale at Buckfastleigh, and Paignton would be a good home for it. Also, was the warming fire lit in 825 by any chance, as I did see a picture in the latest Steam Railway magazine showing it was close to being finished off.

Yes Mark, 825 indeed.

Excellent to see 825 and 926 alongside each other. Shame there’s probably not sufficient appetite anywhere to get 825, 847 and 506 together; having three serviceable S15s around at the same time is surely rather rare.

On another note, I think even the Bluebell don’t currently have two operational engines in Maunsell olive. So curiously the NYMR is the place to go for 1930s SR glamour for the time being.

2253's owner has just announced that the S160 will be staying on the Moors for the Autumn Gala.

Yeah, I saw it on the NYMR's website whilst checking the gala page. Nice to see it getting some miles in here, and that was the case today when I saw it on the teak set at Grosmont.

Now is it just me, or does the loco look right in this livery? Especially when hauling the teak set.

Got a trio of screencaps this afternoon after seeing two of the old guard running again. First, 29's back from Peak Rail and fully repainted.

Second, 825's back on passenger duties after running in, and I caught it as it first left Goathland,

Then arriving at Grosmont about 10 minutes later.

So that's another two locos ready for the gala. I've also seen pictures on 92134's Facebook and Twitter pages of it raising steam earlier this month, though I'm guessing for the gala, it might be in light steam at Grosmont if anything, but we'll see.

What is going on this morning, I noticed 62005 departing from Grosmont with the 37 banking, it arrived at Goathland and then depart south with the 37 still on the back and pushing?

37264 is being positioned for a charter later in the day.

Fair enough. Saves trying to fit a light engine move in. And speaking of the K1,

Yep, made sure to get a screencap of the old girl this afternoon. Now we're really ready next week's gala.

Never a fan of black engines no matter whose railway, but to see it on a US engine is remarkable in this land of virtually all black steam locos.  Not being of an age to remember the glory days of Edwardian colour schemes but there was a time when engines were kept clean enough to enjoy the corporate colours of post grouping railways up until BR's propensity for black.

There's also a few others that have shown that alt colour locos can look good although perhaps not to the purist!
