stock_2007
While watching a number of DVD's showing NS train crews changing over, a number of the times one of the crew seems to carry a 5 to 6 foot silver pole. At first I thought it was something like a shunter's pole but why would they need that? Please don't say for shunting Edited July 12, 2017 by stock_2007
w124bob
Look closely, does it have a sort of hook at one end? It's for putting the hand brake on/off, saves climbing onto the freightcar. NS in particular seem to have adopted these for brakemen. Put the hook around on of the spoke then pull down.
