Nick G
As I am building the Trawsfynydd section now I need a backscene. As with Maentwrog Road we are making a custom backscene using photos from the real location. John accompanied me today with his camera to get some shots.

RMweb Gold CovDriver Posted January 20, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 20, 2020 Stunning pictures especially the one of the footbridge I've walked across it's a bit of an odd feeling as you walk over hearing the the creeks and groans from the metal work. Popular Post Nick G
After our photographic trip on Sunday to Trawsfynydd John has worked his magic and stitched all the photos together to give us a 9ft long back scene. The file is already at the printers for printing onto 3mm Foamex. Hope to have it done by the weekend. Here is a small compressed version... 18

Nick G
The end of the line at Trawsfynydd as it is today. Thanks to Cazrail for the photo.
Nick G
A couple of crude phone pictures of progress on the Trawsfynydd nuclear flask transfer point. Trawsfynydd nuclear power station in the background. Just starting to blend the backscene in. (My phone seems to have made the static grass much greener than it actually is!) Merfyn Jones
Reminds me of when working round there. If you can see the power station it's going to rain, if you can't it already is. Good progress pal.

CazRail
That looks superb. Already I think it captures the place well, even though I've only ever worked there with the line overgrown!
Nick G
Done some static grassing this morning, just the base layer. Lots of trees to make over the coming weeks...

stivesnick
Hi Nick If the backscene is displayed as mid-winter, are you going to create your trees to match? Just a thought. Nick

The problem is the Maentwrog Road back scene was photographed in Autumn. Couldn't do this one last Autumn and can't wait until next Autumn due to deadlines. I need to disguise the fact it is winter which I can do I think as the real location was very enclosed by trees and undergrowth. Trees and grass will be toned down by the time I have finished... 9
