The D9s were so much smoother and more comfortable; seeing a red bus coming down the road always made for a good start to the day.

The D9 had rubber suspension amongst other refinements being cutting edge bus technology.

Definitely one of the best around.

Apparently they were banned by BCT on the B82 for many years.

I'm sure Rapido will have some of the latest progress on the bus at Warley Show. Jason gave me and Phil a guided tour around the real thing earlier in the year.

Looking at the floorplan for the show they seem to have a rather large sized stand this year. About the size of a bus.

But will it be the Guy Arab Birmingham?

Rather hope so..... I have a couple on order to remind me of my youth!

There used to be a group in the early days of social media, (possibly Friends Reunited?) called "I Spent My Childhood on the Number 11 Bus". My youthful impression was that the route passed close to about half of the secondary schools in Birmingham. If your school wasn't on the Number 11 the chances were that you had to use it to get to the route your school  was on or to some other activity such as swimming baths or sports pitches. It was probably the best dating agency for teenagers in the area.

What was that then Keith? ;)

Couple of times this week

I mentioned that Rapido were doing a 1932 Crossley Condor

As I though it was not a secret, I posted and got them blitzed!

Don't know that Rapido regularly follows this forum so you may be better off emailing them for specific questions.

However they are in the process of replacing their website and the new site's product updates page has the following regarding the UK buses (as of February 1st):

Birmingham 'Guy Arab' - delivery mid 2019 - final samples stage

Leyland Fleetline - late 2019 - currently at tooling stage

Latest Rapido North American newsletter (currently only available to email subscribers, not publicly posted yet) mentions that the Birmingham Guy Arab is in production with it planned to be in stock at Warley this year.
