Indeed, however I need to get myself a set of bending bars. Can’t seem to find any.

Jesse Sim
So I’ve been counting bricks recently instead of sheep, so I decided to do something different in my spare time this morning. I had a spare Great Eastern tender that I took from a B17, swapped it for a Group standard one, so I decided to make it into a sludge wagon. I have two London Road Models GNR tenders to go along side them. Here it is after adding buffers to the other end and a coat of paint and staining with white paint. I might dull it down a bit thought, I think it’s too white.
DougN
Jesse, you don't have another one of those tenders as I am chasing a replacement to one that suffered an accident. Infact I only want the gear below the running plate? It is hard to find them just by themselves!

I don’t unfortunetly, I was going to sell it...... but woke up this morning with the urge to try something different. Sorry mate.

Jesse Sim
A small teaser of what I’ve been up to
Popular Post Jesse Sim
So if nobody guessed I’ve been working on the scenic stuff at the north end of Brighton Junction, I decided on trialing a different approach this time, the previous ones being timber forms with chicken wire and plaster bandage, expands foam with plaster bandage, now I’ve gone with foam sheets glued together and then cut and shaped, the plaster bandage will go on top again. Started it all on Saturday afternoon, it’s worked perfectly and exactly how I planned - I’m now worried, cause nothing ever goes to plan. I simply measured up the area and cut the blocks to size, glued them all to the correct height and then cut out the shape. When it came to cutting down to trackbed height I just measured out 150mm and then used a square (mines actually a triangle) and then got hacking with a saw and boom! PERFECT! Looking North at Peascliffe Tunnel, certain gaps will be filled in with plaster bandage and soaked paper kitchen towel. It still needs a bit of sanding. My ever suffering girlfriend, Rachel, waiting patiently (I hope). Looking south from Peascliffe tunnel, the bridge is complete only the small bits of brick sheet need to be added, as well as the wall, some weathering and she’ll be good to go. I think the embankments look rather good. My missus deciding now to photobomb...I am pretty sure I rolled my eyes and then had something thrown at me. Finally looking north at the whole set up! Pretty proud of myself on this, the next big task in a few months will be ballasting, still a tiny bit of wiring to do and double checking before taking that plundge. Everything runs fine, I think I’m just not in the mood for ballasting, where’s Baz when you need him!!! 22

Sharky
Looking good there Jesse. Foam certainly looks good, can see why it's so popular to use. The bridge looks right a home in the cutting there as well! Just hoping it was a 5 plank or J72 that was thrown at you.

Jesse Sim
I know it’s not Railway Modelling, but this is why I’ve been quiet with no work being done.... Matilda has arrived at the Sim Family residence and is very cheeky and keeping me on my toes.
DougN
Looks like butter wouldn't melt in Matilda's mouth..... no doubt she has a bit of mischievous streak though... the crazy beagle has his moments but he is slowing down a little at the age of 6years... he has decided that hot air balloons and any fire works are against his laws... birds are tasty if caught. (So far birds 0 beagle 3) and who said beagles can't fly... I have seen him jump up to about 160cm! From a standing start! It is great she she will be a constant companion for years.

Jesse Sim
Whilst we are on the topic of non modelling things, I got my A4 finished today. Started it in July and finally went back after months to get it finished. Now my love of Railways is on me forever!
Jesse Sim
Excellent day at Forestville exhibition, I was demonstrating at the BRMA section with many of this Parish. I always got to operate Charles Rudders Uley Junction a couple of times, a GWR O Guage layout. I used the ‘Demonstrating time’ for kit built wagons that need painting for Brighton Junction. These were a mix between Wizards Models white metal, Parkside plastic and a ABS models white metal hopper wagon. Got a fair decent done and am very happy with the results. I also was gifted a Mailcoach LNER Coronarion kit, however it’s missing the Kitchen/Third twin, if anyone has one or knows where to get the two articulated coaches I need, please let me know, I am happy to pay.
