Mick,

See 2 posts back.

Pete

Hi Pete,

Quite - but you said it was a "guess" And I don't doubt your answer.

My post was about the fact that folk should not be put off by others that can't get to the named shop(s)

Incidentally  - on the bargain front. Transport Models have an unboxed Heljan Cargowaggon on the 2nd hand shelf for £18.

They usually sell for more than that - there is a boxed version on ebay currently bid up to £72!!!!

Cheers,

Mick

Please name the shop. It is in the OP if the bargains are restricted to personal callers only.

Sorry - but it's just hard luck if you can't get there (I can't)- at least someone on here may be able to take advantage.

Cheers,

Mick

Yeah I know, just trying to inject a bit of humour into a pretty daft situation.

As mentioned a couple of posts back it's Gee Dee's in Nottingham

A bargain if you've just bought one of the new livery Hornby Class 66 locos and want to put sound into it cheaply!

Thanks for this.

Don't suppose anyone's heard the big announcement this morning? Forget Brexit - in light of a recent upsurge in demand for local bargains, Ian Allan (censored) has announced the intention to open fifteen extra stores across the UK! These stores are being meticulously planned and strategically placed so that there will be no more than 100 minutes travel time from wherever you are in the UK to your local branch. In earnest, they have also ordered reams of 'reduced' and 'bargain' stickers, as well as flat top furniture for displaying such bargains on top of.

....And for anyone still not close enough, all items (including bargains) will be available on-line, with free postage.  Not only that, the on-line prices will be cheaper than in-store cos' you're not wearing out the carpet.

Just bought this, cheers for the heads up!

Been wanting one of these for ages, I travelled on many of these on the Dartford to Charing Cross lines back in the day...

Trouble is I'll need another one to make up a 4 car unit really!...;)

Lots of Bachmann stuff!

I think Bachmann are having a clear out as I've have emails from other retailers such as TMC with the same items at similar prices in the last week or so.

I do wonder if charging £40-50 per coach is sustainable and similar for wagons is sustainable for "normal" catalogue items. There are also a few Hornby steam locos (Coronation, Haig J36 etc and the GWR 153 buried at the end of the bargain pages)/

Indeed.  Time will tell, but I'm finding that whilst I can stand a hefty price hike on a loco, it's getting harder to bear it on rolling stock.   I watch the bargains thread with a keen eye.

Hi,

I wonder if £445 RRP for a 4 car Bachmann BR(SR) EMU is sustainable?.

Regards

Nick
