Interesting!..you don't have a couple of spare  body shells going cheep, if you're breaking them for parts do you ?;)

Hi,

I may have in the future once I've decided what parts I can use (I may make refurbished CEPs out of some of them). Mostly I'm after the motor bogies and the trailing bogies as I don't think anybody sells the trailing bogies ready made or as kits. Also some of the chassis as some close coupling units on my Blue Grey CEPs have been damaged seemingly beyond repair.

Regards

Nick

Whilst on the subject of cheap off cuts;

Leroy Merlin, ( in Benidorm La Marina store at least), have 1m lengths of various aluminium and plastic profiles available for 1 Euro.

Mike.

Apologies for being a bit specific, but no worse than the Birmingham bargains to me!!!!

Not sure if this is a bargain in general but it may be of interest to some who are looking to complete rakes based on old models.

Pierre Dominique in France have a sale on old Jouef models including intercity coaches and a D285 diesel.  Pages 1 and 2 only apply to save scanning the whole lot.

Hi Andy

Do they specialise in old stock?

I noticed some old catalogue Hornby & Bachmann hidden in the pages.

e.g.

https://www.pierredominique.com/art-62498-locomotive-vapeur-class-43xx-gwr.html

https://www.pierredominique.com/art-63386-locomotive-vapeur-modified-hall-gwr.html

(Both split chassis locos.)

Have the following

370430 Capital Connection £150

370048 The Highlander (DCC with controller) £115

38901 FVX blue Carflat £25

38902 FVX blue Carflat Motorail £25

37716 3x8T Cattle Bauxite £35

Further to mel’s post there are in fact 2 highlander and 2 capital connection sets on the table, the capital one is actually £130 not £150

ive just bought a highlander set (still 2 left) which with the 2 loyalty card I had on me worked out at £105 (then as I’ve spent over £100 I will get £5 off my next purchase)

thanks melmerby for the tip off

They are very much the first port of call for long out of production models but this is the first time I have seen UK 00 models on their site.  They are also very much on board with latest releases, so they are not just purveyors of old "collectables".

I thought that there could be only one?

On Thursday there were 3x Highlander & 2x Capital Connection and 5+ of each type of Carflat.

The Highlander was a real bargain at less than 50% RRP, a complete plonk & play set and ideal to get into N & DCC

I thinking of using a spare baseboard I have and do a 1980s west highland type set up, a nice little single line, junction maybe, viaduct, edge of a loch, I can see it in my head, whether it happens is another thing
