I today paid a visit to the Hornby Visitor Centre and for some reason they had a basketful of ‘Janus’ locos for £50. Had the port of London, ICI and Allied Steel variants

Hornby and Oxford are great chums.....

They are indeed, but my understanding was that this extended only to cars and maybe scenery, not the rail items

Probably doing a chum a favour then, shifting some slow items that don't directly compete with Hornbys own ranges.

Hattons were selling off the BP Janus last Christmas for £49, so the price fits.

I wouldn't mind an ICI one, but its even further away than the Ian Allen sale table... :jester:

My first post, so hopefully will not fall foul of the bargain police !

Hornby store at Swindon had around 30 or so of the 'Janus' diesels, in Allied Steel (non weathered) and ICI, for £50.00 each.  Also, had a basket of Oxford Rail private owner wagons for £7.50 each, strangely all with the outer sleeves removed!

Also, had a few of Atlas editions 'Eddie Stobart' trucks at £5.00 - £8.00 each, on there  '3 for 2' offer.

That’s a shame as the Ian Allen table this morning has a load of Bachmann ICI 7 plank wagons on there for £10 each

Hmmmm.  No doubt that would be due to "water damage" ...

Rails have another lot of Dapol class 22's in stock, from £79.50.

https://mailchi.mp/railsofsheffield/rails-mail-bargain-Dapol-class22-locomotives?e=1ca040424a

And note that they want £89.50 for D6325, as against £79.50 for the rest.

Plain green with disc headcodes seems to be far more popular then any of the rest.  Bure Valley sold their two within hours of their existence being reported here...

I must say that both the green and blue examples with full yellow faces look singularly unattractive!

correction for Rails "50p below the rest prices, apart from 4D-012-004"

No, No, NO

I will not succumb to Class 22s, I model the Southern Railway not BR

And I wouldn't then buy at least one pack of these for my beloved North Cornwall line

£29 for three quality wagons is an absolute steal.

Thank you.

Couldn't resist stealing 6!

Mike.

Mid May Madness? I’d say more of a case of Spring and Summer sanity...... the prices are probably what they should have been on those products.
