Bargain Hunters Mark 2

Recommended Posts

Still some bargains to be had for anyone in and around the West Midlands today at the A Oakes 70% off sale. For instance, there's a Heljan 009 L&B loco for £84 in the window, with a number of Bachmann wagons around £5 a pop including Pill Box's and LMS variants. There was a Maunsell Open 2nd there when I left for £11 which I thought was insane. There were a couple of steam locos left, as well as three class 71s for £50.99 each.

Maybe time for a new thread each year -  Bargain Hunters 2020, 2021 etc.  Possibly keep the page numbers more manageable.  Plus if anyone wants to refer back, then if they know the year, it may make the search easier.

C.

Bargains are probably only going to be available for a fairly short time so no-one is going to be looking through 119 pages looking for bargains, more likely the last couple, but thats probably the same whether the topic is divided by year or grouped generally as at the moment so I'm not sure its worth changing

Why? What's wrong with the current thread (other than the fact it goes off topic once in a while)? Having a new thread isn't going to stop the OT posts.

So, back to bargains then?

These are good for loco/tender connections:

You have to be quick though as they've only got 76 of the 1st class coaches left!

Transport Models of Preston have a 25% online sale - on everything excluding sale items

Use the code RETIREMENT at checkout.

Don't know if this applies to shop sales.

Tried to place an order on this website for a Metcalfe kit and the code worked but they want £8.70 postage. A total rip for something that can be sent Royal Mail large letter for a couple of pounds. Not paying that.

Doesn't sound right.

Are you in the UK?

Gardena Micro-Drip-System extension pipes at my local Homebase (Dumfries) - five in packet for £1.00.  (Elsewhere £4.95 or so).

Grey plastic.  13mm (1/2") diameter.  200mm long.

Or maybe to you as a pipe wagon load, or a station platform canopy column?

Hope not just in Dumfries!

Also at Doncaster, TTC Diecast are offering 10% off the total price when you buy two items of rolling stock-including locos. Otherwise, I didn’t spot any ‘weekend wonders’ on any other stalls, apart from reductions on some books on Booklaw’s stand (but also at same price on their website)
