Back to Hereford Models, I've had my eye on a Green Bachmann 105 with Speed Whiskers (31-326) for a while, and as its payday tomorrow I've decided to take the plunge. Link here: http://herefordmodels.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=340_350_355_357&products_id=6739

£80, 1 left. Absolute bargain when you consider that Hattons have one available secondhand for £212!

EDIT: 25 minutes after my post and the last one has gone already!

I did the same for a Bachmann Blue class 25 that was going for £93.

Just hope it's not a glitch in there system and it's actually in stock as you can never have to many class 25's in a collection as this will be my fifth one.

The Hereford models site really is a gold mine for bargains.

I just managed to pick up a DJM J94 for £81. They had a few different liveries available as well.

http://herefordmodels.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=340_350_527

Also noticed class 105 in green for £83 and Bachmann wagons starting at 7.95 for box vans and open wagons. Picked up a few of the box vans myself, be rude not to at them prices.

Ellis Clark has launched a side operation called Clarks Railworks. Had a look, it appears to be selling off someones old collection so there's only 1 of what's available, but there's tons of different stuff available - Some bargains, or hard to find models that stand out are:

Hornby Manchester Ship Canal Peckett, £80 - quite a hard one to find now and cheap.

TMC Weathered Bachmann Ivatt 2MT - £75.

DCC Fitted Bachmann 4MT Tank - £65.

Heljan Lime and Green Falcon - £90.

Heljan Beyer Garratt - £165

Rake of Bachmann Birdcages - £115.

Someone buy the rest of the Pullmans from Clarks before I do.  I've just battered my wallet something fierce from all the tips in here...

I know what you mean I model the southern and the prospect of a black 5 with fitted sound is a tempter among a bunch of others on there haha

He's usually quite prolific on eBay and similar to Rails, this kind of stuff usually finds its way on there. It's probably been set up given that eBay haven't announced any £1 final value fee promo offers recently in wake of the ongoing situation so that the items are sold direct.

Had some good stuff off Ellis in the past, but found more recently some of his prices to have become a bit more keen, but that's probably true of the whole industry.

Yes, I think it's like anything you have to do your research and be prepared to shop around. It seems most retailers seem to have a few items at a very good price and the rest isn't so attractive.

It's a good way of retailers getting free advertising by getting onto this thread though. Hereford models must have done a good trade this week and a lot of the Ellis stuff has been snapped up quick.

They announced one this morning in some sense of irony!

Definitely. It seems most retailers have something that is a particularly good deal but then are more expensive than others on other items. I suppose everything is like that though.

A very large box arrived here from Dapol / Lionheart just over an hour ago.

Yes, Garry was right to tell me not to doubt, the 64XX and St Ives Branch B set coaches have arrived.

To avoid thread drift, I will take the discussion on the items to the appropriate threads on the forum.

All I can say about both the loco and the coaches is wow. It has to be one of the nicest, most well constructed locomotive that I own in any scale.

Just a reminder that Lionheart are still offering the St Ives B set of coaches for £200

https://www.lionhearttrains.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=53

They are still an absolute bargain for that price with interior lighting, a working tail lamp, die-cast bogies. They are superbly finished.

If you have any O gauge BR Western Region tank engine, these are not to be missed. The correct tank engine would really be the forthcoming 45XX from Dapol / Lionheart. I will be eagerly awaiting these to be delivered.

Just got my nice blue 26 from the KGR link a few pages back ...

Runs nicely - now to find a decent sound project - and of course re-seat the classic Heljan light tubes which promptly fell out on body removal :)
