I am interested to know how long that livery was on there with that nose.

The earliest photo Ive seen with the livery/nose combination is 2003, the earliest Ive seen with the rebuilt nose/livery is 2007

Haven't looked at that many photo's though!

No, there doesn't seem to be that many with the headcode boxes and that livery, although I didn't spend much time looking as I knew it wasn't that relevant to my layout. I was interested to know if it was a really short lived combo! Most of the pics in that livery are with the new front end though it looks like.

This is the cheapest I have seen it, Hornby TTS Class 60 60044 Dowlow @£148. Only one left. Almost 30% off RRP but it seems this doesn't seem to be being discounted in  hurry either.

Oh my lords I need to stop browsing the Hereford site, just put my third order in lol.

a couple more stand out bargains IMHO:-

First up a JHA for under 24 quid a pop, 2 in stock. That's a girt big wagon for the money:-

http://herefordmodels.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=369_370_377_386_389&products_id=11709

More my bag, but I'm not tempted oh no I mustn't ... 3 pack of Presflos for under 47 quid, plenty in stock: reckon that's about half the price of the current batch:-

http://herefordmodels.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=369_370_377_386_389&products_id=11749

Without wishing to sound unkind the shop is a veritable Alladins cave of alcoves to browse .... it comes as no surprise that additional stock would "materialise"! But a great bunch of folks...

Obviously there are likely to be detail differences that 37 aficionado's will point out, but that model would make a good basis for renumbering to 37087, which stayed in that livery/headcode box combination until 2012.

Not really the place to discuss on this thread, but from the top of my head the differences are markerlight lense positions and cantrail grilles are the main differences between the 2

My DJ Models 1361 arrived today, gave it a good two hours running in but it stalls frequently at low speeds... needless to say I’m returning it, but wanted to ask if anyone else experienced this?

Trying to work out whether I’ve just got a dud and to ask for a replacement or save my cash for a different small engine bargain...

I would suggest asking the the DJM section.  Though given the demise of that vendor i would expect return.

In other news some bargains:

cheap parcels vans:

https://railsofsheffield.com/products/27667/Bachmann-34-328a-oo-gauge-50ft-ex-lms-piii-parcels-van-br-blue-weathered

Rails also seem to have quite a few sub £25 quid  Bachmann Mk1s in various shades...

I know it's a long thread but the last few pages of this thread are probably the best place to ask/find answers:-

Yes thx a Mk1 GUV for 25 notes looks good,

I know they're a bit niche if one is in rivet counter mode; but these Grain Wagons are nice and cheap at under 16 quid :

Depending exactly what you're wanting Hereford Models and The Model Centre also have similar offers;

http://herefordmodels.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=369_370_377_387_390&sort=3a&page=1

https://www.themodelcentre.com/oo-gauge?cat=688&manufacturer=852&p=1&product_list_order=price

Start at the bottom of P1 on the model centre link.

Between the various suppliers you can pick up a few different types at a good price so it's worth shopping around.

don't get me started on that bag of nails (i'm on about the 1361). returned mine to Kernow, after some snotty emails regarding noise, grease etc. I did get a full refund though.

Another shout-out for Bure Valley Models (no connection). Just bought a pair of Maunsell ex-LSWR coaches in sunshine green at £27.50 each (generally £40+, best I'd seen elsewhere was £33).

http://www.burevalleymodels.com/s/maunsell/name/2

Also available in crimson+cream at the same price. Olive a bit more but still cheap.

Also seeing Maunsell push-pull sets at £55.

Secondly, if you're after a Peckett W4 (specifically, the blue PLA or green Forest Colliery ones), Derails (no connection) appear to be your best bet, at £77 (and £0 postage!). Over the last couple of months I've had one of each.

https://www.derails.co.uk/index.php?route=product/search&filter_name=peckett

Rails have them at at £80, but then you've got £4 postage on top.

If this has been mentioned before, I apologise.

Browsing, I've noticed that the LYR tank in lined BR is a 'bargain' at Rails. It appears substantially cheaper than other outlets, and appears also to be generally low in stock (or sold out) elsewhere.

Hopefully, this is helpful to someone?
