And just spotted another couple of bargains at Bure Valley Models

R3399 EWS Class 67 Freight Pack at £110

http://www.burevalleymodels.com/p/8181/R3399---EWS-Class-67-Freight-Pack

R3398 Lyme Regis Branch Pack at £115

http://www.burevalleymodels.com/p/9241/R3398---Lyme-Regis-Branch-Train-Pack

3 of each as I post this, sadly I am spent up or I would have gone for the Lyme Regis pack.

Ugh. I just spent massive amounts of money this weekend, and am now having to fight the urge to buy the Lyme Regis pack. That's a fantastic price.

Not a "bargain" as such based on RRSP, but most places seem to be sold out of the Rocket pack, Chester Models are listing as still in stock (I have not called to confirm if true). Given prices these are going on ebay, it probably counts as a bargain? https://chestermodelcentre.com/railway/trains-sets-train-packs/r3810-liverpool-and-manchester-railway-stephensons-rocket-train-pack

Not sure if it has been mentioned or not but 'The Works' (the cheap book shop) has DAS modelling clay at £4 for 1kg instead of £7.99. Presumably can be picked up in store - but is also available online (£2.99 postage if under £30).

On the subject of feedback when things went wrong, I received the wrong item on a postal order from a model shop. A quick phone call and they sent the correct item out 1st class that day and told me to keep the incorrect item, despite me offering to send it back to them.

This is where a genuine mistake actually led to a good review and me intending to use them again. Top marks Rhuddlan Models.

Anyway, back to the bargains....

Our old friends in Hereford have a new class 87 for £55. Seems like a good deal to me...

AC Slotcars of Eastleigh have recently been listing some competitively priced items on eBay. Typically marked as Second Hand, a number appear to be as new and excellently priced.

Here is a link to their items filtered by train items and newly listed:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/Model-Railways-Trains/180250/m.html?item=143646670003&hash=item2172023cb3%3Ag%3A39QAAOSwaYle~Fip&_ssn=acmodels2&_sop=10&_sac=1

It is difficult to pull out individual items as they are typically one of each and sell quite quickly, so worth keeping a keen eye on. There is a KESR Terrier loco currently listed for £65:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hornby-R3782-SE-CR-A1-A1X-Class-TERRIER-No-751-DCC-Ready/143646670003?hash=item2172023cb3:g:39QAAOSwaYle~Fip

There are also a number of other newly tooled Terrier locomotives listed for £70 with free post and best offers available.

Hornby R3693 B2 Peckett competitively priced at £85 with free post and best offers available:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hornby-R3693-Peckett-B2-SHERWOOD-COLLIERY-No-4-DCC-Ready/153990149789?hash=item23da87369d:g:80MAAOSwIiVe~FGI

This morning, a SECR Wainwright H sold for £85:

I've also recently bought a R3555 William Stanier FRS off them for £110 which they keep listing from time to time, so worthwhile keeping an eye out for anyone after one of these. Its arrived in fantastic as new condition as well.

Speaking of Hereford models, just called in in person and got me a couple of bits and bobs

the owner is happy for me to post the following, I think these are a cracking buy

Dapol class 22s in various states of weathering and renumbering for £85 (the Heljan western is £70)
0D0A5C5C-6EFF-428A-B382-F88EA5492ED7.jpeg.18dac5015ca7c1a9ba02c9ec2c1ac226.jpeg

the weathering isn’t the best on some but it’s more than passable, the renumbering is also not fantastic, only the last 2 digits changed, the head codes could be better applied too

this is one I got for myself, as there was a dodgy renumbering on one end (which came off with my thumbnail after I’d paid) it was priced at £65, my model has the spare head codes in the box so I can’t see a reason any of the others wouldn’t

obviously these are in the cabinets in the shop so if you want one you will have to call them to see what they have left

For Amex cardholders Hattons counts as one of their "small shops" with a £5 credit when you spend (I think £10). Cardholders can activate the offer in their Amex UK app under offers.

Offer valid to 13/09/2020 and also includes Rails of Sheffield. You can check for other eligible 'Shop Small' retailers via https://www.americanexpress.com/en-GB/maps?country=GB&near=&cat=Shop-Small&name=

Couple from AC Slotcars on eBay - again, one of each but they put similar items on from time to time. Both are used, so would advise to study photographs carefully. Previously bought a used model off them that was in fantastic condition, but as always with delicate models - pays to be careful.

EDIT - NOW SOLD Dogbox in GWR livery - £95 (free post with Best Offer available):

EDIT - NOW SOLD Locomotion R3377 King George V - £120 (free post with Best Offer available):

SDR's ebay page has some new stuff added.  Mostly Dapol 4mm GWR railcars (but some other items incl blue Western).  £126.99 with 20pct off code makes them approx £101.60

https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/southdevonrailway/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ipg=&_from=

I tried that with a Northern Ireland address & it told me "This code can't be applied to your order" ?

Maybe its just UK mainland ?

Lidl have had some more under cabinet fluorescent styled 573mm long LED lights, £5.99 or 2 for £10. May be a week or two so stocks may be limited or gone, I picked three up on Thursday. They are identical in shape and cable fitting to the Sensio ones sold by Tool Station other than being cool white as opposed to the warm white of the basic type offered by Tool Station; TS do sell also sell ones switchable between warm, cool and natural. The Lidl ones come with a connecting cable which the TS sell separately and also being nominally a trade outlet the power lead supplied by TS has no plug. Price wise a slightly shorter warm white 524mm from TS is more than two of the Lidl ones and the switchable one three times.

Western Pullman set £745

Goodness knows how £745 in OO became a bargain...

For anyone who does see it as such, or interested in any similar items on the SDR eBay page, if you checkout any item completely free using Topcashback (Link to Site) they are currently paying out as a promotion at 2% vice 1.

If you've not used it before, it might not seem like much, but it really does add up over time. I've accumulated around £550 over the course of about six years solely from cashback from mostly eBay purchases and other retailers - hopefully that Pullman will still be on offer when I manage to accumulate another £200! :D

I need to know if there is a bargain on manners first before I just start using them frivolously...

Fancy a bargain?

Good morning, Trojmiasto. We are writing to let you know that we have an amazing price on all good manners. From now on, all good manners cost nothing! Thank you very much for reading this message. Please enjoy this opportunity and enjoy the rest of your day!

In all seriousness, I don't know whether this is a bargain as it is outside of my interests (or whether it's been covered before). It's an older model, but anything DCC fitted for under £100 strikes me as worth mentioning.

The N15  is available pre-owned from Hattons, but for slightly more.
