Bure Valley will not sell to me: "As we are unable to obtain cost effective goods in transit insurance, I regret we do not ship outside the UK." So how do other UK sellers ship to me in the US with no apparent problems? The Bure Valley Railway are a relatively small operation that plough all of their profits back into the operation of the railway. They've also had a tough year for reasons completely irrelevant to this thread. Shipping outside of the UK is obviously more work for them, so if those are their terms, so be it. 3

I got mine a while back for a similar price and put the 67 on eBay for £80 or 85 with the certificate and it sold within hours as I was just wanting the Coalfishes with unique numbers. Having received the pack yesterday I have to say I'm extremely pleased with it all - especially the '67'. For around £60 - 70 I've now got an up-to-date model with all the features I need. It won't be going up for sale.

So how do other UK sellers ship to me in the US with no apparent problems? Goods in Transit insurance for UK will cost a certain amount, Goods in Transit insurance for USA/Canada will cost a lot more, for a variety of reasons. Greater distance travelled/more likely goods go missing/are damaged, if a claim is brought in US/CA courts, damages awarded are likely to be much higher than UK. A small business may not be able to afford overseas Goods In Transit cover, or they may do so little overseas business that it isn't worth the extra cost. A larger UK seller with a lot of overseas customers will be able to afford overseas Goods In Transit cover, and be able to absorb the cost of the higher premiums. Retailers don't have to sell outside their own country if they don't want to. 2 2

Definitely seen them in the £80 to £100 range. Jason
