Sir TophamHatt
Cheapy Wago-like connectors: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07YCBDBKR/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_AoBMFbMWT24AW?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 Tick the "25% voucher" box and use code: LIUMY201028 £4.79 for 50 pieces. I went through the checkout but the price only went down to £8 or so after putting in the code. Went back to the product page and then ticked the box again. Then chose the Buy Now button where it came up with the right price.

Really odd order this one, before the 25% discount the amount was £14.99p.......after applying 25% discount the total was £4.79p Worth a punt though, thanks.

I'm not sure I'd want to see these in my house. Are they to BS / EN standards, 'CE' certified? The marketing blurb is a bit suspect, like "Do not connect the neutral and fire lines to the same terminal", and one of their pictures show them in an external situation but seems to show WAGO connectors and not theirs. Maybe OK for low-current under-board model use, but I would not want them on my 230V domestic supply. If it's the same as LIUMY-Direct, then Amazon report that it's HQ is in Guang , China. If its the Litunian company then this says it all: "Liumy is a design atelje where products are hand crafted to ensure the highest quality. Our famous product is Instant Albums with pockets for the photos to hold."

They'll be great I think for connecting wires under the board. If they are "rated" for 24A then I'll chance it with my layout. 1

However, with these lying in your toolbox and then potentially being accidentally used on 230V some time in the future, the risks outweigh the benefits, in my opinion. Don't want the BH Police after me, but I thought that this was an important safety observation to make.
leopardml2341
As with any 'Bargain' - Caveat Emptor, and that's before I put on my electrical engineer hat and take the discussion further Meanwhile..... This looks to be reasonable; I saw an 'RMB' sell for more than the three coaches recently on a certain auction site. http://www.kernowmodelrailcentre.com/p/65879/K9611-Bachmann-NSE-Mk1-Coach-Pack-Special-Offer Edited October 29, 2020 by leopardml2341

TBH I wouldn’t use genuine 240v rated versions of these in any semi/permanent mains use regardless, they are primarily ( or were) designed for temporary use in development of electrical circuits or equipment. They'll be fine with 12v low amps circuits we find on model railway stuff, obviously upon use if they look and feel like they are made of tissue paper and spit then even then they will be binned, but at these prices worth a punt. 1

Nova Scotian
LMS Suburban special edition pack for 140 GBP. http://www.burevalleymodels.com/p/9483/R3397---LMS-Suburban-Passenger-Train-Pack Cheaper by about 10 quid than anywhere else. Cheaper than the RRP of the non-special edition that's down a coach. 1 1

Nova Scotian
Trix mentioned somewhere else on forum, went for a poke around. Apparently a dcc-ready starter set available for 100 euro https://www.maerklinshop.de/en/detail/index/sArticle/2/number/T21530?__country=28 Even for a modern dcc pugbash that wouldn't be awful given the track, dcc-ready, rolling stock etc. Or use as is. Just for info, pretty sure it’s with a D.C. controller not a DCC controller, the chipped loco will work on both of course. As you say, good value for the Loco let alone the wagons and track with it.

I edited, but could have done a better job. It does have traction tires, but like the electrotren 0-6-0T this seems like a good candidate for a pugbash, or even a better starting point for the whole steampunk thing. I wasn't sure on VAT, shipping etc (though it looked free/cheap?), and obviously post January things could change...
alastairq
Still [in my jaundiced view] a good buy, especially as a lockdown special [something different?]? How easy would it be to replace the traction tyred wheel with a plain wheel, I wonder?
maico
Stuff on the Marklin-Trix website is RRP. There was a reduced VAT rate in Germany that is applied at checkout at all German dealers but that seems to have ended. The loco mentioned is the cheaper Start series and that means it's not metal bodied boiler like most regular Trix and made in China not Germany or Hungary. The pictograms show which part of models are metal. Edited October 31, 2020 by maico
