I went into Tesco today to see if the February Hornby magazine was out. It was, and they also had the 2021 Hornby catalogue so I bought both. When I paid for them a 'multibuy saving' of £4.00  was deducted, so it was £10.98 for both.

Also here without leaving the house:

Not sure if this allowed here (given it's a BRM-owned platform and Model Rail seems to be 'almost banned'), but the Hornby Magazine website offers the new Hornby 2021 catalogue at £6 (ok, £5.99) with free postage.

You have to add the discount code 4HRN21 before checkout - which get you £4 off

It's not the most logical shopping platform. You need to 'add item to basket', then click on 'basket' to show the discount code box.

If you don't follow this process - by clicking on 'checkout'  then you'll go straight to checkout and pay full price!

Got mine today - very fast service. Be aware, the one I received isn’t just damp, it’s very wet - even the model inside is wet. The outer box just crumpled on opening and the inner boxes may not survive - they are covered in black mould (had to wash my hands twice to remove after touching!).

still a bargain, but thought it worth sharing the experience to avoid any surprise!

The £20 GUV that’s newly listed is also a steal, as they are usually about £40.

I can also vouch for the service and quality. All items come with 6 months mechanical warranty so less risky than Ebay.

A few discounted railway books currently with a further 20% off here:

https://www.naval-military-press.com

Specifically at:

https://www.naval-military-press.com/product-category/other-categories/non-military-titles/

Pick of the bunch, in my opinion, is:

PETROLEUM TANK WAGONS OF BRITAIN, R Tourret at £10.39  (9 left in stock).

Also:

GWR ENGINEERING WORK 1928-1938, R Tourret at £7.99 (3 left in stock).  I got this last time they had this 20% off, in a moment of madness, but a quick flick though suggests it might be heavy going.

GWR EXPOSED Swindon in the Days of Collett and Hawksworth at £7.99.

GREAT WESTERN COUNTY CLASSES Churchward 4-4-0 Tender, 4-4-2 Tanks and Hawksworth and 4-6-0 Tender Class at £7.99.

REGIONAL TRAMWAYS: WHALES, ISLE OF MAN AND IRELAND POST 1945 at £7.19.

No connection, other than as a satisfied customer.

I tried to order last night and had problems with a 'internal server error' fail. I've spoken with Gary at Naval & Military who apologies and says he can see a number of other orders that failed. He uses 3rd party software, which has never failed before, and says it's all up and running and advises people to try again. He also confirms that he does have small stock of the two Tourret books available.

Quite a few things added on the Hereford Models web site, some at what look like good prices to me including a Bachmann RES Mk 1 BG at £25.30 and a BR Derby lightweight DMU in blue for £93.95.

(As an aside, the lightweight DMU looks a bit odd to me in blue - Wikipedia says the last one was withdrawn in 1969 so I don't suppose they can have run like that for too long).
