STOP STOP STOP.....

If anyone is still stressed, I recommend 4 minutes of Oliver Cromwell therapy..

Quite so, but virtually everyone on this thread knows what happened to the last thread for the same reasons.

That should indicate that further discussion of a bargain should be taken elsewhere.

Those interested will follow it and this thread can stay uncluttered, for bargains not discussion.

As for scattering information, if you follow this thread you'll know where the related topic has gone. As the poster will hopefully post a link to it.

If we keep this up it'll be closed again, and nobody will be better off.

Rob

was the old one not locked because of continual arguments as to whether it was only bargains or discussion too?

'As for scattering information, if you follow this thread you'll know where the related topic has gone. As the poster will hopefully post a link to it.'

So are you saying that a link should be posted in here to say a new topic has been created? Is that not a bit contradictory if you're wanting only bargains but also postings of new related topics being started? Cant have it both ways

Sorry don't follow.

You post a bargain, and, if you or anyone else wants to discuss it you start a new topic, suitably headed, and post a link to new discussion. It's not rocket science.

You can then discuss the new topic at leisure and leave this thread uncluttered.

Presumably you'll come here 1st to see a newly posted bargain, and if there's an associated new thread for that bargain, for discussion, a link will be provided. I can't be more plain than that.

Sometimes I think some are deliberately being perverse with this thread, and others for that matter.  :scratchhead:

Life's like that; chill!

I did think about not posting this just in case you're beaten to it by everyone else, but I expect there's enough to go round.

Quite a good read IMHO.

ps I don't need anyone to point out that it's not a toy train.

Already got it. :)

Compared to previous shipping prices ($14.99 by UPS), the current offerings from Shapeways are now a bargain.

Standard shipping is now $4.99 - UPS is still available.

Cheers,

Mick

It seems that the simplest solution other than locking what has proved to be a useful topic to save money (always helpful!) Is to have two threads, one bargain hunters with no discussion allowed and a separate bargain discussion thread where people can discuss the merits of particular bargains etc.

Hattons are selling Heljan 26s at a very good price; one make is at £59, while the other two are at £61.

And for the steam modeller (which I was hoping to be but modelling diesels is starting to beckon) then Cheltenham Model Centre are selling DCC fitted Robinson J11s for £65.

Rails of Sheffield

Bachmann 30-049 CLASS 20 088

BR TRIPLE GREY DIESEL LOCOMOTIVE WITH DCC SOUND

OO GAUGE

£139.50

https://railsofsheffield.com/class-20-088-br-triple-grey-diesel-locomotive-with-dcc-sound-JJJA31906

I may be wrong but I think the decoder in this model can't be re-blown & Model Rail Magazine review said it was a disappointing sound version with no working lights.

BRM seem to have produced a SPECIAL edition of the December 2017 issue with the DVD for only 99p.

The 99p is NOT a label but part of the cover design and I bought my copy from Sussex Stationers who are part of WH Smiths, so I presume you will also be able to buy from a normal WHS outlet.

I also bought the December 2017 issue of Hornby Magazine with Free Calendar in a cellophane wrapper. Magazine cover shows price of £4.50 so was very surprised when the total for both magazines was just £2.99!! Yes, you read that correctly, and when I looked at the till receipt, it showed Hornby Magazine at £2.00. Now that's what I call a bargain!!

What a nice surprise at this expensive time of year!

Enjoy
