With pending air legislation you've got about a year left of being able to use coal for residential use.

The BBC article specified the measures as applying limits on sales, not on use.

Maybe it will have a high value on the black market in 2023 when the full ban on sales of house coal comes in!

For the record, I am advocating the purchase of a bag of coal for modelling purposes only thereby keeping it away from those who wish to burn it.

My wife was kind enough to buy a bag for me today since she was passing a Wickes store on her way to meet her mum.  My MiL was then able to provide several hours of amusement after she commented "I didn't think those little trains ran on real coal" !  :sarcastichand:

She wasn't joking!  This one will run for a while, I feel.  It's too good to resist.

Indeed, the hardest bit is shovelling it through the firebox door.......

I find the LEDs get in the way :jester:

This seeks to cheap to be true, and I'm VERY cautious, even if paying by credit card, but anyone purchased from this website:

https://www.woxeargoods.com/advanced_search_result.htm?search_in_description=1&keyword=Hornby&inc_subcat=0&sort=20a&page=1

"Help" e-mail address doesn't line up with the company's domain name.

Lacking many of the required statements for a UK site; cookies, privacy, etc etc.

The about us, and various other bits are generic, and english as a second language (but much better than most - it's less obvious).

I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole.

Anyone in need of an early BR Hornby B1 (R3451) and about to buy one from Hatton's now they've dropped their price to £114 can save themselves £14.01 by buying from Kernow instead.  A penny under £100's the best offer I can find online, and certainly a long way from Hornby's £174.99 ...

Curiously, MRD have Hornby O1's for the same money - but be quick, 1 only each of Early and NE branded.

Had an email yesterday from Hattons and news of Hornby 'bargains' ...

Dunno about the other locos, but if they keep going and knock another £14 off their B1 price, they'll be the same price as Kernow ...
