For those that haven't seen my thread my local shop is having a retirement sale.

And they have now started putting discounted stock on their website although there is presently more in the shop. On Friday there was a whole cabinet of discounted HO as well as some Hornby and other things.

Hattons seem to have a small number of Hornby Sentinel shunters in Wabtec and Balfour Beatty liveries at £55.50 a pop

Hornby W1 in Carter Blue for €144 (about £120). And a lot more bargains at Modellbahnunion.

Also saw this. I'm not sure how postage and customs works out, but 320 EU for a DCC sound O gauge DMU looks like a good deal: https://www.modellbahnunion.com/Spur-0/Dieseltriebwagen-Class-122-bubble-car-No-55002-BR-Digital-Sound.htm?a=article&ProdNr=7D-015-001S&p=837

Updated: I just bought it for 267 EU, not sure why the price is fluctuating.

You can set the language to English, there are more offers here https://www.modellbahnunion.com/specialoffers.htm?shop=modellbahn-union-en&a=offer&filter=k3264g3430p3432

Is it not the VAT they did not add, I suppose you're a UK resident? If I order in the UK and have it send to Belgium, most shops don't add VAT since this is collected in the country of destination. (Because the UK left the Customs Union and single market).

Rails of Sheffield are running an additional 5% off most in stock items again over the bank holiday weekend.

https://railsofsheffield.com/blogs/news/additional-5-discount-2

It's valid on some of the already discounted Class 150s, meaning you can pick them up for around £225-250 (depending on livery), which was enough of a discount for me to get round to ordering a Northern 150/1!

[Modellbahn Union, VAT etc]

Follow up: yes I am UK, and yes the price dropped when they calculated 0% VAT for export. I did get a VAT bill for this, even so the DMU was is a great deal.

The Class 122 "O gauge" DDC sound is about £400 UK and was 267 Euros working out £276 after paying VAT and fees, which is quite a saving.

The parcels vans and coaches weren't such a bargain but still a bit of a saving; e.g. GUV was £143 rather than £164.

Monk Bar Models have a small sale on with a link on their home page - https://www.monkbarmodelshop.co.uk/

Best bargain by a long way are the EFE PBA Tiger wagons at £34 or £37, quite a bit cheaper than many other retailers (e.g Rails £42). There were about half a dozen in the basket when I was there on Monday, some weathered and some not. So be quick if you want some.

Not seen this come up yet, Hornby appear to have launched an "Outlet" on their site

https://uk.Hornby.com/catalogue/outlet?sort_by=8&page=1

There's some good prices on Bulleid coaches in particular, the 71s are okay, and there's a couple of other interesting deals. Example below (there are more items than this)

image.png.a6a9b33cb223be284dcf87078bf43522.png

Just note, eg. the 71s at about a hundred quid, the same one is available through the model centre at 90 quid - so do double check elsewhere before purchasing!

Probably for another thread - but interesting that they now seem to want to dispose of aged stock through their own "outlet" as well as pushing out to the retailers. Some of the prices on the outlet are cheaper than many of the box shifters.
