Hand held mini vacuum cleaner £30.

https://www.bmstores.co.uk/products/blaupunkt-cordless-hand-held-vacuum-362397

Upon opening the box I was pleasantly surprised by the quality feel of this.  Obviously, I can't yet comment on its reliability, effectiveness at picking up different materials (e.g. dust, ballast, biscuit crumbs etc.)

You might find one elsewhere, e.g. Comet have one for £51 that differs only in the branding.

It has a small cylinder for collecting debris so any locomotive crew you inadvertantly vacuum up will be easy to retrieve.  About the same size as a wine bottle once assembled.  Comes in a large box laughably security sealed at the top but easily opened at the bottom, doh!

Just come across this screw set while looking for something else on Amazon, given the prices I've seen asked for a handful of loco body screws or whatever, this looks like a bargain to me, 500 screws of various types for 7 quid.

TMC with an extra 10% off their sale using the code PAYDAY

https://mailchi.mp/tmc-direct.com/hot-summer-extra-1177985

Some decent prices on newer stuff with that 10% off on top of their usual RRP discount. Nothing stands out to me, but if you were planning a purchase of something newer this might be the time to do it

Either discretionary spending is starting to tighten up, or we are all off on our 'olidays.

Rails are offering another 15% coupon on their ebay store: https://www.ebay.co.uk/str/railsofsheffield

Expires on 4th August.

Rails are in eBay's large list of vendors offering 15% off. I assume eBay pays for this periodic promotion so can it be combined with the best offer function?

Yes in theory and I've done it before. Last time I tried though, they wouldnt accept any offers saying they were already giving 15% away.

I think the vendor pays, not eBay. Its a condition of being a business seller.

20% of many book/bookazine titles at Key Publishing, enter code SUMMER20 at checkout.

It works on their sales items, so £5 bookazines become £4. 2nd class UK postage is free.

eBay offering 10% all 'Buy it now' items marked as Used, with code TENFORU.
Appears to apply across all model railway items from all sellers.

If you got through TopCashBack you can get an extra 2% on top of the 10% at the moment. There is no real downside to this offer. If you are not already a member You can sign up through this link
https://www.topcashback.co.uk/ref/mr_bd - disclaimer - if you do go through this link and save a certain amount I will get a referral fee. If you don't want to go this way you can also go via the topcashback website to sign up.

was rude not to divert to Acocks green being as I was finishing a couple of miles away this evening in small heath!

the guy was saying there should be some more items available in 2 weeks time, Keep an eye on the website, he seemed a bit of a crank and knew what he was selling, said he had some Heljan locos last week, as well as Dapol 29s but they went straight away on line

Hattons have 25% off select 00 pre-owned and discounts on other scales, see link below:

https://www.hattons.co.uk/newsdetail?id=1244&utm_source=klaviyo&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=mar-0977-aug22preownedsale-oo&_kx=zI0z1Mn8KTAKTSunI9F4y3e3IrZZb3vUDtEgt2apJHU%3D.JGQeXh

Some very tasty items…Hornby new tool 67 for £64, Hornby full length Virgin MK3 £15. Usual caveats, pre-owned so quality may be variable, and it appears there’s only one of each item, so the above examples may well be gone when you read this!

Thanks,

Jack.

Please note that these bargains are to available others - at the time of posting - and not that you've just obtained the one and only available item.
