The only time I bought rizzla fag papers in anger was to glue over holes and poke droppers through , but I would think you should be able to slide some in and obscure holes - at least it will stop errant ballast jamming the PM - just like on the real thing !  

Brilliant work and doing the first under peer scrutiny is doubly brave !

Why do we go to all this length to produce our own track?

 

Below is a comparison with a Peco code 75 ‘Y’ point. Mainly built for the American HO market and largely following their practices, this is generally what has been considered the norm in the uk for many years.

 

I think you’ll agree the difference is considerable, with every component and dimension being different.

 

Spend some time looking and comparing - the more you look, the more you’ll see!

off topic in this photo is that a magnifier light on the edge of the shot? Looks a good un! Would it be available somewhere if it is?

Yes I wouldn’t be without the magnifier, not sure how I managed before - perhaps I didn’t!
