Victorian GWR Coaches Ruabon Dolgelley

Penrhos,

Thank you.  I will not waste my time trying to find the diagrams at Kew.  I do look at your site fpr GWR coach information. it is a very valuable resource.  I do have a couple of bogie coaches that fit the bill.  I will also need through coaches from Manchester Exchange and Birkenhead which from previous discussion would also appear to be GWR coaches.  I was hoping to get some 6 wheel cletestories on those.  I will try and get as many types as possible just for the variety.  I just need to get the diagrams so that I can get them cut.

Through carriages tended to be break composites; very few earlier ones are available from the trade but Worsley Works have some.

iKB produced a 6 wheel clerestorey, U28 I think, which is now available from the Broad Gauge Society.

Looking at what 4mm kits have been available you could have:

E9 by Bill Bedford

E17/E18 by broad gauge society

E24 by Blacksmith if you can find it second hand

E26 by Blacksmith

E37 by Slaters

E39 247 developments

U27 by Ks

U28 by broad gauge society

of them I think only the bgs/247 developments ones can be easily bought.

Thank you both, that is most helpful.

I have seen a picture of a Cambrian train on Barmouth Bridge in about 1896 which when magnified and distortion removed, thanks to Mike Oxen of this parish, appeared to have what we think was an E36 in it.  It would also appear from the time of day/type of train, that it was heading to Birmingham.
