My copy of the Wales volume came on Saturday, thanks to the good service provided by Simon and George at The Titfield Thunderbolt.

 

It's just superb. They've certainly left the best until last.

The ten original British Isles volumes have now been joined by "The World's Last Steam Locomotives in Industry".  The first of two volumes ("The 20th Century") has recently been published by Amberley, to be joined by a second (covering operations into the 21st Century).

With world-wide coverage of over twenty countries some sections are fairly brief, but the photography from both the author and his associates is of the high standard set in the previous volumes.  Sumptuous.
