F-UnitMad
Micro-trains, without question. Look no further. The N-scale equivalent to Kadee, with comprehensive lists of which coupler to use with particular stock & locos.
RMweb Gold Regularity Posted October 14, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 14, 2017 Wasn’t Micro-trains originally the N-gauge part of Kadee?
F-UnitMad
I think it was, actually!! I'd forgotten that!
Adrian Wintle
Micro-trains, without question. Look no further. The N-scale equivalent to Kadee, with comprehensive lists of which coupler to use with particular stock & locos. I would agree. The majority of my stock has been converted to MT couplers regardless of the original couplers. For rolling stock it is often simpler to replace the trucks with MT ones. Locomotives can be more of a challenge but most can be converted relatively easily. If you are going down the MT route I would suggest getting the coupler height gauge. I do keep the Kato couplers on my passenger rolling stock and locos. Adrian
RMweb Premium BR60103 Posted October 16, 2017 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 16, 2017 Wasn’t Micro-trains originally the N-gauge part of Kadee? Kadee comes from the initials of Keith and Dave Edwards (iirc). At some point they split up, one taking the smaller than HO and the other taking the rest. A lot of us older modellers still think of all of it as Kadee.
