moonlight
Well I'm in. Added constraint set by senior management that everything should come from my existing stock/stash Current thoughts are a mini layout in 009 with a high level track for skips discharging to a lower loading point with a suitable digger inspired by my recent visit to Leighton buzzard Pete
Edwardian
Well I'm in. Added constraint set by senior management that everything should come from my existing stock/stash Current thoughts are a mini layout in 009 with a high level track for skips discharging to a lower loading point with a suitable digger inspired by my recent visit to Leighton buzzard Pete I think a plan that uses height to fill the space is an inherently good idea for this challenge and I look forward to seeing what you produce. Why "Rokeby"? I live in a place called Rokeby, and it isn't anywhere near Leighton Buzzard!
moonlight
I live in Rugby - and one of the old names is Rokeby which I have pinched for all my layouts Pete
Edwardian
I live in Rugby - and one of the old names is Rokeby which I have pinched for all my layouts Pete Interesting, and a very fitting choice.
Nearholmer
I was wondering, idly, whether it might include a reclining nude female, which is what ends to come to mind when I see the word Rokeby.
moonlight
Building underway - the small size means rapid progress is possible Base from foamboard - left an inch under the base to allow addition of electrics within the usable space Plenty more to do but basics are coming together Pete Edited October 28, 2017 by moonlight
moonlight
Having pretty much finished my main layout, the Christmas period has allowed some progress on the cakebox Building the steam shovel - will post more shortly Pete P1250700 by Peter Blay, on Flickr">http://P1250700 by Peter Blay, on Flickr P1250697 by Peter Blay, on Flickr">http://P1250697 by Peter Blay, on Flickr Edited December 27, 2017 by moonlight
moonlight
Well I believe its just about finished! Additional challenge met - not a single item purchased for the entry 9may just indicate that my stock stash is rather too big!) Both tracks are powered - as are the Led lamps on the buffer stops For added interest I have a removable fiddle stick that will accommodate the train from the lower level (yes I know that's outside the envelope) Photos below Pete End by Peter Blay, on Flickr">http://End by Peter Blay, on Flickr >Fiddle by Peter Blay, on Flickr">http://Fiddle by Peter Blay, on Flickr >Overview by Peter Blay, on Flickr">http://Overview by Peter Blay, on Flickr >Ruler by Peter Blay, on Flickr">http://Ruler by Peter Blay, on Flickr >Steam shovel by Peter Blay, on Flickr">http://Steam shovel by Peter Blay, on Flickr >Top by Peter Blay, on Flickr">http://Top by Peter Blay, on Flickr >Tunnel by Peter Blay, on Flickr">http://Tunnel by Peter Blay, on Flickr >View by Peter Blay, on Flickr">http://View by Peter Blay, on Flickr
davefromacrossthepond
I'm totally blown away. Every thing "works" and even in the small space with all you have going on, the scenery dominates - just as in real life. I really do like your use of the black foamboard - provides and excellent foundation while at the same time "framing" the scene without being overpowering. EXCELLENT!
