OH WOW.
I've stood and taken shots on that bridge in blue diesels, Grey Diesels and privatised diesels.
You've captured the feeling.

Oh yes! The section between the pipe bridge and the Great Rocks signal box is really coming together. What a difference a bit ( quite a lot I suspect) of static makes.

I know you're going for accuracy ,but I think you'd be forgiven if you wanted to reduce the hight of that pipe. It llokks a bit mad up there.

Great work, though. I can't wait to see it with the scenery around Up Sidings completed.

Andy.

Some lovely progress on the layout and stock this summer Nik. It really is starting to look like Peak Forest now!

I've started a rake of KPAs for Whatley and would be keen to compare notes on how you did yours. You mentioned Precision for the transfers, does the sheet include everything that you need including data panels etc or is it just the Tiphook logos? How did you make the ladders and what paint did you use for the grey and blue? I've noticed that there are a couple of different patterns for the ladders that got fitted.

I've done one wagon so far and ended up scratch-building the ladders and handrails out of brass using Stenson Models ladders as the basis as well as their cheque plate. For the hopper doors under the wagon, I'm developing a small bit of artwork for the silouette cameo to make these from styrene. The last bit will be the four actuators along the side of the wagon which I will have a go at 3D printing.

Looking forward to your next updates!

Cheers,

Guy

Hi Guy

Thank you , for the KPA.s I think it was DRS blue for the dark blue and exec grey.  The decals were precision two sets the Tiphook logo and then he does the rest in  a pack and you give him the wagon numbers to produce.

Interested in the underneath parts as I didnt go that far with mine.  The ladders are standard ladders from A1 and scratch built railings

Look forward to seeing yours completed

Nik

Also work has started on the signal box area of Peak forest south which needs a lot more detailing as time moves on but I wanted to get the main area completed as I move onto the old station area.  Happily I managed to get the footbridge area also added.  This was done before Gt Tunsley Dale arrived and space became a premium so a small delay has happened while I now sort the unit out to work in.

Thanks for posting another update.  Progress continues to be very impressive.

I particularly like the view down the gradient towards Great Rocks with Up Sidings on the right.  It'll be a fantastic scene with an assortment of 37s stabled there and  double headed Northwhich hoppers thrashing up the bank.

[Scenery detail note: the footpath over your very nice girder bridge was in regular use until barricaded for safety reasons in the Autumn of 2018 {https://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/105210-reflections-on-peak-forest/page/9/ }]

Keep up the great work and looking forward to the next post.

Cheers, Andy

2021 is nearly over and the layout hasn’t progressed as far as I wanted but bring on 2022 to push on.  Today was a setup to take a few end of year pictures using my Buxton locos and some special wagons that I built and were all expertly painted by Jon Gavin
