AGR Model Store
So over the last week, actually started to make a start on the embankment on the shed scene ( pic heavy / even got the miss's involved ) ( Can't understand why this photo uploads upside down, I've tried every possible way to up load it and still doesn't come out right on this fourm ) Anyways abit of foam, plaster cloth, dentist plaster smoothed off and hill sides are hard as rock Next was woodland scenic earth tone paint for the hills and tarmac paint for the roads covered with different colours of static grass Next up get the track sorted and wired up / ashy ballast and move on to the next section

AGR Model Store
Few little updates - Timber yard storage barn, normally can be seen behind the station in the 50's 60's ( ignore the other parts in the photo they are for another layout being built ) Just can be seen behind the platform sign Also Ex-LNER Drivers toilet block, to be positioned down by Bog hall level crossing Going forward, hopefully if Whiterose model's ever get back to me I wish to order my next baseboard for the turntable section - Oxford Rail J27 arrives shortly - More Low relief houses for Windsor terrace - More sound fitted locos & weathering All for now, thank you again
RMweb Gold russ p Posted July 16, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 16, 2021 That middle picture is unusual, obviously from the 70s but there is a class 120 there Wonder if it was a railtour as certainly not a regular occurrence A few came down in the 80s when the 143s had gearbox issues 1

Doug Hey
This was my first and only attempt at water , I used Ezy Water poured to a thickness of about 5/16" poured in one go over wood base painted in streaky fashion with a mix of seaweed green, tobacco brown and navigate blue. If I was to do it again I would use less green and add grey Doug Hey Edited August 8, 2021 by Doug Hey better description 1
Doug Hey
Here is a map showing the track loop alongside Corner and Browns shed with the spur running onto the inner dock quay. Note the Ordnance survey trigonometrical station marked on the quay as a triangle with centre spot. Fishburns shipyard remnants are occupied by Corner and Browns timber yard, this was where all of Captain Cooks ships were built, Also a photo showing NER wagons being hand unloaded from the spur onto a sailing ship. Map 1894 photo probably around the same time. Doug Hey Edited August 29, 2021 by Doug Hey larger photograph

Doug Hey
The oldest photo I have seen of the Whitby loco coaling facilities is this one, The coaling stage has not yet been built and locos are being coaled by a handcrane situated at track level close to the main lines. The yard changed regularly over the years as it still does and it is not always easy to pinpoint when changes occurred. Doug Hey
Another portion of the 1894 map showing the original position of the small turntable in the loco yard. Note the river ford crossing to the Spital disrict from the Bog Hall rail crossing . There is a second trig. point on the river bank nearest to the engine shed.
