Hi All,

I don't know if I've posted these elsewhere before but they were taken at Ramsgate, when I originally learnt to drive MPV's.

The 'L' plates were a special endorsement by your's truly and managed to last for some time before removal from both ends.

Notice the weather....brilliant sunshine and no modules loaded !

MPV's are prone to ovehaeting of the diesel engine (s) and shutting down for safety, often it is due to blocking of air intakes by lineside debris,....  Autumn Leaves!

Seen today at Goring. I think this is a derivative of the Windhoff MPV. Please enlighten me as to its purpose (thinking OHL something or other).

Hi,

Yes, part of the ‘HOPS’ (High Output Plant System) Train:

https://www.networkrail.co.uk/running-the-railway/looking-after-the-railway/our-fleet-machines-and-vehicles/high-output/high-output-plant-system-hops/

It’s based on the Windoff MPVs and ordered as part of the Great Western Electrification, but little used from what I can gather (apparently the specification of its equipment was changed after its construction).

Presumably it was scurrying away back to Swindon after doing some OLE maintenance.

Some interesting photos in this thread.  I hadn't come across the white livery for MPVs before, it's rather attractive - provided they can keep it that clean.

There's quite a lot of modules MPVs can carry besides the ones produced by Bachmann.

Does anybody offer any of them as 3D products?

In N gauge there are a couple of other MPV variants produced by somebody called 3DR Designs
