Luxury. Sheer luxury. We dreamt of having a teabag. But it weren’t for likes of us. A taste of tea leaves and lick damp off t’cobbles were closest we got. Aye, and we were grateful.

Well, if you going to get into 'Four Yorkshiremen' territory, to my basic 11 I would add:

12) Central station goods yard

13) Upperby shedmaster

14) Crown Street Goods Yard

15) Canal shedmaster

PLUS fat controller

AND tea boy

Very important that last one. 17 tea bags swimming in a gallon tea pot ... (cue Four Yorkshiremen impressions)

Ah, on the Mid-Cornwall Lines Mme St Enodoc is the tea lady...

Real model railway men use 1 teabag then dry it out for repurposing as scenic material.

So - so far the Hills of the North 'Fantasy football team' of operators lines up as follows:

1) Central station (rest of the world) (2 persons) - St Enodoc

2) Bog Junction (WCML / S&C through lines) - Barry O

3) Shap summit / Carlisle Station North - Barry O

4) Carlisle Upperby (2 persons) - Barry O

5) Carlisle Station (2 persons) - Dr Gerbil-Fritters

6) Garsdale - Barry O

7) Reedsmouth Junction (S&C through lines) - Barry O

8) Dentonholme Goods - Barry O

9) Caldew Junction (Carlisle North) - Barry O

10) Carlisle Canal / Edinburgh fiddle yard (2 persons) - Barry O

11) Riccarton Junction - Coronach

Fat Controller - Red Leader (possibly stationed at Bog Junction)

Tea Lad - Clive

Anybody fancy helping Barry out - he's going to be a tad busy as it is!

Hi Graham

I see at Carlisle station you have Doc, does having a double barrel name count as two people?

Glad to see the tea duties will only be for four people, as it looks like Baz will be too busy to drink his. :locomotive:

Hi Clive,

Will you be despatching the tea to the various destinations around the layout in specially converted torpedo wagons from the tea works on Teaside along with some six wheel milk tanks from Appleby creamery as tastes require ?

Hi Gibbo

I would hope Red Leader has a rake of proper TEA wagons.

And a few of these

For those who have been good boys a train of these might follow.

Hi Clive,

There, I've corrected that for you.

Right - just for that, you can be the Upperby shedmaster and be in charge of some proper locos instead ...

Well not wanting to steal all of Baz's thunder put me down for a spot as long as JW brings the obligatory box of Mrs JW cakes with him. :)

OK - Crown Street goods yard then. Lots of wagons to shunt and no pesky signals to worry about.

I'd just like a chair and a big mug of coffee, and watch the trains go by.  This is going to be a fantastic layout!

That equates to Reedsmouth junction. Just declare the branch to be closed, clear all mainline signals, switch out the box and ... just watch the trains go by.;)

If JW has been banished to Upperby, I’ll gladly take the spot at Edinburgh with all the lovely Eastern motive power...
