w124bob
Digging around I've established that this train ran pretty much unchanged from 1966 to the demise of the TPO. There are also plenty of late '80's onwards photos but I can find no photos or even writings on motivepower or formation for the earlier period. Any info just post TOPS would be useful. 11B
From what I remember when I used to walk up to Ulverston station with my dad it was normally a 47/4 or occasionally a 31 with a mk1 courier brake van, a sorting van and a mk1 BG. There are some photos I have on a saved site on my laptop, I will try and post a link on Friday to them. Hope this helps Ian

RMweb Gold The Pilotman Posted December 8, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 8, 2017 There's a typo in the caption of that last photo, Ian. I don’t know which 47 it is but it's definitely not 47705 (or any other 47/7) as the caption states.
11B
Not sure if you are still looking for information on this still, but today I saw a copy of the Cumbrian Railways Association magazine from August 2018. It had a page about the Workington TPO in the 70's. Three photos show the train. It looked like one sorting van and three BG's. Two of the photo's had class 40's and one had a 25. Hopefully this will be of some use. Ian
