Scalescenes Garage/Workshop

I haven't seen a post of one of these on the forum yet, so thought I would share my attempt at building one and setting it into the layout. Just a very basic pic at the moment, but will add more later.

Its the OO gauge variety, printed at 90% to help a little with forced perspective. However, this did make the pumps and accessories a little large, but not too bad.

Its a nice, easy kit to put together and comes with plenty of detail.

I added plastruct gutters/downpipes and interior LED lighting. For more detail, I used a Scalelink Garage Workshop kit (pumps, oil dispenser, car jack, vice etc), Scalelink 1930's petrol pumps, along with a Wills Workshop kit (lathe, pillar drill, bench), some Model Railway Scenery laser cut shelving plus brass etch tools from Severn Models. Also inside I cut an inspection pit and fitted an Oxford car (Austin 7 I believe). Outside is a motorcycle from the Airfix RAF Bomber Command Re-Supply kit, another Oxford Car and a scratchbuilt shed with an Oxford motorcycle and sidecar outfit.

Let me know what you think!

Very nice, really captures the period, one of these might suit the forecourt and the layout:

Often overlooked, but you captured it very well: the dirt & gunk kicked up along the bottom edges of buildings.  Really notice on garage doors.

Thank you George. That's the beauty of Scalescenes printed kits - they do all that for you!!

This looks Amazing! Could we have some close ups of it

Thank you Derbys65. What bits do you want a close up of and I will see what I can do? I only have a phone with a camera so a little restricted but am happy to try for you.

As promised, here are some very intimate close up pictures, which will always show up horrors and mistakes. Biggest one is when I installed the building, I knocked it and the rear belt pulley shaft fell down and I cant reach in to fix it without removing the roof!!!

Brilliant photos Ian! I am just about to start this kit for my layout so these will give me much inspiration for the finishing along with the very useful list of accessories used, thanks

Good luck with the build Steve and would be great to see photo's of what you accomplish with yours. I havent seen many of these garage kits on layouts which is a shame.
