pwr
A few more from the recent running session. These next two show the B2 on the short passenger - must be a running in turn. This one runs quite well unlike the F5 which sounds like it needs a good run in and oil! When you realise it was built 25 years ago you can perhaps understand! Next the new Hymek on the Avonmouth Banana vans destined for Easton Lodge. In fact the train is looped here as the driver has failed it. The Warship which was at temple Mills to take the return empties has been summoned to take over there being no other Eastern Region loco available that day due to a derailment at Stratford loco. Its stretching the point a bit but I do like warships and its my layout!!! Now the classic (and genuine) loco for the layout period. Class 15 on a short coal working for the Felsted Sugar Beet factory. I am particularly pleased with my weathering here although its not showing its best on this image in strong sunlight. Most of these are Parkside kits but the rear one seen in the earlier video is a Peco version. I also have a Dapol which I need to weather. I'll have one of the VB versions when that's released later this year too. These wagons were also used to transport sugar beet to the factory and there is a great shot of this train in Braintree station being hauled by a WD 2-8-0 in one of Frank Church's photo albums which I regret are long since out of print. At some point I hope to recreate that but I need to get on with building some loco kits! All for now and I hope you are enjoying the latest photos Paul R
pwr
Ok so here is the final batch from the recent running day. I have more but they are a bit repetitive. So here we have the 33 on a banana train from Southampton Docks. Lovely runner this and I am pleased I got it having missed out on the original batch. And a final one of the Class 15 running round That's yer lot as they say! I might have another video that said. Until the next running session is back to the Parkside Banana van build. I think I can muster a train of 10 once all kits are done. I have a parkside LMS and a Freightman it of the same vehicle. It will be an interesting comparison once these two are built. SDuhig
The RT Bus is an IXO 1/43 model. Quite nice and appears on O gauge from time to time, but London Country would be the wrong period perhaps? It would be lovely to find a suitable Eastern National Bristol KSW doubledecker but good luck ;-) I do have a Corgi Eastern National OB somewhere I think if you want that? https://images.search.yahoo.com/yhs/search;_ylt=AwrEeSQGYuVeUEwA0gkPxQt.;_ylu=X3oDMTByMjB0aG5zBGNvbG8DYmYxBHBvcwMxBHZ0aWQDBHNlYwNzYw--?p=corgi+bedford+ob+eastern+national&fr=yhs-symantec-ext_onb&hspart=symantec&hsimp=yhs-ext_onb Adore so much about this layout, not least those signal boxes. Terrific Edited June 13, 2020 by SDuhig
pwr
HI Steve Yes I have one of those OB buses. Yes the RT is completely wrong for the area but as you say its one of those few 1:43 bus models and at £20 at a the local Model Railway and bus event I couldn't resist. They had some in London Transport colours too. I think this version came from a Hachette part work. I looked it up and they did a whole range of 1:43 buses from around the world including an open top RT. I am hopeful that Oxford might be persuaded to increase their range on the back of the Weymann Fanfare. I would love a Bristol MW or RE. I would love a Bristol MW or RE. I was thinking about this the other day. In the last few years we've gone from no British busses to 3 or 4 and there are 4 or 5 lorries too. I think the manufacturers have already decided the demand is there now and we will see a few news ones each year. Fingers crossed anyway!

pwr
Oh What! I didn't see that in Hatton's announcement. Now I am going to have to search for it and what am I going to do with all my Corgi 1:50 versions! Paul R

pwr
Well the new IXO Ford Thames arrived. Its a pretty good model as the photos will show. Not sure if the lettering is the right font but the biggest niggle is the fact that for a UK prototype it's got left hand drive. On the plus side the rear body is made of plastic which is unusual for a die cast model but it does mean the walls look prototypically thin. The sacks are not bad but they don't really sit correctly. However I don't have any intention of doing anything about it. I am looking forward to the Bedford TK which I am hopeful might arrive this week. In other news I have now got all the transfers on the banana van and its ready for a coat of matt varnish. I have decided to finish off an LNER fish van that has been on the shelf ages so that's progressing in parallel as it was at the same stage All for now Paul R

Morning Andy Definitely something I am contemplating. I have yet to look and see how you get into it but I think the dash looks simple so it shouldn't be too difficult. Its one of those niggling things that I will need to deal with! Paul R
pwr
Well the Bedford TK arrived and I am very impressed. The cab is die cast and the trailer plastic and I have to say I think the mouldings are better than Corgi. The model is RHD unlike the Ford Thames but is the same 1:43 scale. I am going to have to dig out the Corgi version for a comparison. Now something different and for Andy's benefit from SMS, my first diesel loco which is a Parkin kit of the class 50. It doesn't quite stand up to the modern Heljans and following the announcement on Friday I have got an order in for a large logo version. However I wouldn't part with this one. I do need to install the lights which were in the box when I got it all those years ago - early 1980's it was from that well known retailer whose name I have forgotten on Middlesex Street in London just round the corner from Liverpool Street station PauL R

pwr
That's the one! They had a cabinet of kit built locos and went in once on holiday and saw that. I was hooked! We've lost a lot of the big name model shops. I used to frequent Kings Cross models and Victors of Islington. Once went to W and H Models as well as Beatties back in the day.
