bécasse
Jeanmi, who sadly passed away last week, will have been little known to most British modellers but he had helped found the Saroulmapoul group of HOm modellers whose modular layouts will familiar to many who venture to shows on the continent. When it looked as if the Jocadis range of SNCV tram models was going to disappear following the death of its proprietor, it was Saroulmapoul that saved the day and their efforts were fronted by Jeanmi from his home in Ernage near Namur in southern Belgium. I got to know him, and his wife Véronique, as the other Belgian contributor to the Croissées de l'Étroit HOe modular layout complex and we shared happy shows together at Sedan in 2015, Laval in 2016 and Lille in 2017. I last saw him at RAMMA at Sedan last October and news of his death came as a considerable surprise. Salut Jeanmi and thanks for your contribution to the hobby. My condolences to Véronique.
