I would say that's more of a Peach!

Wouldn’t that be a loco from Georgia?

A strawberry, or a ripe pink tomato (obviously yet to ripen in this case) would be what you want here...

That looks to be a very good print.

I have an n scale Shapeways one of those that I have painted the blue but not got any further . Another task to complete once the Chicago area N scale layout is commenced.

There may be developments soon.

I'm looking at making the layout modular with the intention to mix and match (that may go out of the window as the plan progresses). Freemo compatability is also under consideration.

I now have a couple of Pikestuff Kitbasher buildings - the Small Engine House and the Atkinson Engine Facility. (I've used Pikestuff buildings on UK layouts before and quite liked the ability to chop them about.

The other is a (sorry Ray) *cough* Walthers Modern Diesel House.

Part of my master plan involves an interchange into a chemical works ( I worked at one for 7 years) and I'm looking at adapting the Pikestuff buildings into transfer buildings for bagged, powdered and liquid chemicals. An inbound chlorine facility may also be modelled.

Apologies for the dodgy pic taken from a moving train through a less than clean window.

The Walthers structure may find itself used as a wagon car repair facility.

And it will get a name - soon........

Cheers,

Mick

p.s I have also acquired another non-EMD loco. It is not an Alco.

The Candor facility is nice, but I prefer the quaintness of the Star facilities, the ACWR is probably my fave NC shortline https://www.flickr.com/photos/35138806@N08/albums/72157652688708584

You've got me looking and found this at Aberdeen, NC

Nice and compact.

As well as Star and another view

Much google mapping/street view to do.......

And because of the AC&W roster, I've now started looking at GP40-2LWs....

Cheers,

Mick

At that price for a cab, you'd be better off buying a full unit - https://www.ebay.com/itm/NIB-Atlas-HO-GP40-2-DC-Loco-Aberdeen-Carolina-Western-703-DCC-Ready-8pin-Plug-/292670790030

Scroll down and there are some nice pictures.

(You won't be able to bid on that particular one - it's only got about 15 minutes to go as I'm typing.)

A bit late maybe, but for the record should it not be to late and you do want to be accurate there are 2 wide cab versions of the GP40-2.

Atlas and Athearn Genesis both offered the GP40-2w, though I don't know how accurate that Atlas model is for an ex-GO unit given that the GO units differed in some small ways from the CN original units.  Athearn is accurate for both GO and CN.

The other 4 units on the roster are GP40-2L (all ex-CN) which has a different frame and larger fuel tank than the GP40-2W.  The GP40-2L has been offered by Athearn Genesis.

Having said that most people aren't aware of the differences...

I've not been able to track down any of the Siemens built locos

Athearn have posted teaser CAD samples to Facebook for 3 products likely to be announced in 2019, several people have ID'd one of them being a Charger.  Others are speculated to be a wide-vision caboose and a C44-9.

The US project has been on hold for a few months due to UK exhibition commitments, but I'm hoping 2019 will see some progress on this project - if only on stock/locos.

Every now and then I keep getting ideas for liveries for my shortline.

However, sometimes visualising them is difficult until I came across this website.

www.trainiax.net.

Such as this "beauty"

18-ge-bq23-7.GIF

I don't know how accurate the drawings are but I can happily print outlines and drag out my crayons to test my livery ideas.

The website owner is quite happy for anyone to use them, as long as they are duly credited to the owner.

Cheers,

Mick

Mick - sorry for the late reply to this - but it has just popped up on my radar . Re Chemical works - have you seen Hawkins Chemical in the micro layouts section of FB? It may well be of interest for an individual section of your freemo ideas " https://www.facebook.com/search/top/?q=hawkins chemical layout&epa=SEARCH_BOX "  loose the inverted commas - it was the only way I could get it to display
