Pony Trucks and their design

Correct, although they weren't radial axles in the old fashioned sense. They were pony trucks, but instead of having an actual pivot, they were controlled by links between the truck and the bogie headstock which, by being non-parallel, caused the truck to rotate about a virtual centre back under the bogie. Altogether quite an ingenious solution about which relatively little has been published.
