to be one sale from Thursday 8th February is Part one of a new Series on Diesel Depots. They will be in "Bookazine" format, and sold through highstreet newsagents.

That looks good. Hopefully the ones on the other regions will follow swiftly.

nothing in smiffs today, they hadn't even heard of it!

Smiths have their deliveries direct from their own distribution depot on a Friday, so it will be shops tomorrow (Friday).

Hmmmm

Is it going to cover ALL depots in an organised fashion, just the larger ones, or larger ones first etc?

Part 1 = LMR Central and Western (Southern) lines, so,

London Western Division,

Birmingham Division

Stoke and Chester Divisions

Manchester Division

Liverpool Division

over 25 depots are profiled separately and a further half dozen or more looked at.

Will it be on sale via railway bookshops as none had a copy at today's Doncaster show?

Wouldn't have thought so, the point of a bookazine is that they are available on the shelves of newagents.

I would be more interested in North East England and Scottish depots.

That will be around part 4.

I couldn't find this in WH Smiths today, either at Glasgow Central station or in the Argyle St and Sauchiehall St stores.

There's always the online order...

Got a copy today at Cardiff Central.

.

Quite a bit of interest, and which was new to me.

.

Only one minor quibble, and not the fault of the author, a handful of the images are printed too large in size resulting in lack of definition.

.

This has happened in other bookazines e.g the series on BR freight, so not the fault of the author.

.

Most of the other, quality images, are new to me, so justified the purchase.

.

Roll on the Western Region edition.

.

All in all, value for money ( a couple of pints !)

Ordered mine on line ! (Same price as well). I would have preferred to buy from a shop, because I want it now, it supports the High Street, and I want it NOW, but if WH Smith don't have it, or maybe just haven't put it on display yet, I have to go elsewhere.
