A small hint of Dapols K4 in the photo there? Ah no; looks like a small hint of a terrier. Edited November 25, 2018 by JSpencer
jonny777
What about them? Well you did ask about products and the new Accurascale Deltic surely fits that description.Plenty to chew on over that. Maybe, but there is nothing about them or the Deltic on this thread, at least not up to the point I made my comment. Which was my point.

RMweb Premium melmerby Posted November 24, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted November 24, 2018 (edited) Anyone got any comments / photos of the Great Model Railway Challenge winning layout? That and the two others entries I saw on display were getting plenty of attention. Which maybe suggests more general interest in Railway Modelling? Saturday is shopping day. Will be back tomorrow snapping away, watch this space! Keith Edited November 24, 2018 by melmerby

RMweb Gold adb968008 Posted November 24, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 24, 2018 (edited) Anyone got any comments / photos of the Great Model Railway Challenge winning layout?Just a quick one here, i plan to look at the layouts more deeper tomorrow. Theres some really good layouts here today, whilst passing from one stall to another, my eye was caught by 20001 on a train of Bulleids, with a Bulleid double deck EMU in the platform, later followed by a maunsell EMU.. so ive got to head back that way !!! Covkid
Have seen a photo from today with what appears to be a West Midlands PTE fleetline in the far distance, inside the hall. Anyone know what it was doing there ? I would love to think it was Rapido Inc related !!!!!
Scale7JB
Hi all, had a great day today at Warley. It's our first outing as well as the railways, and went as well as we'd hoped. The odd bit of trouble here and there due to a very uneven floor, but plan to rectify this tomorrow morning before the show opens. Hope you all had a good day. woodenhead
... implying there are things to interest BR or LMS modellers? At two o'clock today yes, but who knows what there will be tomorrow - I don't think they put everything out at once but there wasn't as much as last year and a lack of crowding as well. It was and it is, I presume it's a Metro Cammell bus, I think Rapido see better U.K. returns from buses, most of their wares on their stand was Canadian themed. RJS1977
Both? There were three! (Aberdeen's winning module from the final was on the Bachmann stand - so much for the person who wrote to RM that "Bachmann and Hornby must be furious with Flint for endorsing this rubbish!"). And yes, great to see all three in the flesh - the module final looked a lot more impressive in real life than it did on TV. Conversely the issue with different coloured water on Aberdeen's other layout also showed up more than it had on TV, but still a great layout! As to the rest - plenty of excellent layouts as usual and the 5" gauge 37 was as impressive as ever. However there were no 'stand out novelty features' this year (apart from on the GMRC layouts), like working bikes, upside-down trains, or double decker turntables. And in the morning I encountered quite a number of 'non-working' layouts, however most were working when I went back to them later in the afternoon having found myself with a few spare minutes at the end. No 'big engine' this year, but the RHDR locos were impressive. Photos to follow, probably tomorrow.

black and decker boy
The EPs for the Accurascale Deltic, Hattons 66, RevolutioN MMAs and Realtracks provincial super sprinters all look very good and should tempt my credit card in due course.

RMweb Gold roundhouse Posted November 24, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 24, 2018 We had a great day with Dobris at the show and one of our team is having a great evening with his desert. I hope he will be OK for tomorrow morning.
woodenhead
Forgot to mention Denton Brook - nothing to do with the Guide Bridge - Stockport route. This has two gauges of track, an incline, tow working cranes and two radio controlled driven (not like a Faller) lorries. It was ace.
JamieR4489
It was my first time visiting the show today and I have to say it was excellent! Everyone I spoke to was friendly and happy to give advice and the selection of layouts and traders was very good. I thoroughly enjoyed the show and will try and visit again next year. martinC37LG
Wow! what a first ever Warley Show day that was for us. Many thanks to the, literally hundreds of people that came by today to see the Guys. Quite unbelievable; and they were really pleased to be able to put faces to the names of some of our customers and supporters from rmweb. I hope you all had a great day, and got home safely. More of the same tomorrow hopefully for my first visit, and I am itching to get over to the 5" stand during my lunch break to see those 37's...... RMweb Premium Scottish-Exile Posted November 24, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted November 24, 2018 Glad I went. First visit was in 2016 and I gave a miss last year. I think I'll put Warley in the once every 5 years or so category from now. For me it's just too big, too far and too expensive a round trip to go every year. Where I am I have the truly excellent Wigan show in October and Manchester next weekend which are both 'big' but without the drama of getting to the NEC. Didn't have a lot of tie layout watching and nothing really grabbed me -apart from Liverpool Lime Street that I've seen twice before. The 5 inch stuff was all new to me. Anyone care to lend me £6k for this Duchess Or I would settle for the 37 The 'Hand of God' Some nice WW1 layouts, Up the Hill being one. Journey's End was most amusing and Hawes Junction was good to see. Got the 17:09 direct train from NEC back to Flint, nipped into the Chinese for a takeaway and now resting my weary feet before an early night.
Sails
My best stories of the day comes from my wife and her experiences when left alone while I ran wild. A couple of full frontal up and down stares, a guy that asked her if she was drinking wine (it was tea) and the guy with impeccable table manners that kept apologizing while he ate his lunch beside my good lady. I just saw and bought model trains.
