RMweb Premium melmerby Posted December 4, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 4, 2018 (edited) That's precisely why I have never built my long planned model of Liverpool Central station (it was also in a hole and almost all covered by roof) - instead I built Herculaneum Dock which was originally planned as an extension to Central. LLS isn't really "in a hole" as it is a sloping site falling from east to west. The approaches are in a cutting but the buffer stops are above street level. Since the clutter has been removed from the front of the south train shed it looks a lot more imposing. You can actually do an internal tour with Google Street View. https://goo.gl/maps/uugAfMz85cv Keith Edited December 4, 2018 by melmerby
Les1952
After all the discussion/complaints/rebuffs I think it's about time there were some more pictures of what was on offer. First, Sutton In Ashfield: SOA 1.jpg SOA 3.jpg SOA 5.jpg SOA 6.jpg SOA 7.jpg SOA 8.jpg Next, Ludlow: Ludlow.jpg Ludlow 2.jpg Ludlow 1.jpg Ludlow 3.jpg Ludlow 4.jpg Ludlow 5.jpg Ludlow 6.jpg Keith Sutton in Ashfield Town is a lovely layout. I'd have booked it for our show in 2020, and nearly did until I saw the layout plaque from our show last year..... What would I do with a brain if I had one? I did consider slicing Bold Street off completely and have the viewers look in to the side of the station and tunnel, the low level platform would have been included as well, but decided that the view still wouldn't have been good enough. Central was a small enough station to have built it to scale as well.
RMweb Premium polybear Posted December 5, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 5, 2018 If I can give any further information about the What? Why? When? etc. of the layout and its operation please don't hesitate to ask. Preferably on the Lime Street Station topic rather than this Warley show topic so we don't bore those not interested in LLS. Steve. Get bored with LLS? If anyone does then I'd wager they're on the wrong Website. Is it lined up for ExpoEM, Railex or S4um anytime soon? I was in Liverpool at the time the Merseyrail "Link & Loop" scheme was being constructed and Central was a big hole in the ground. Keith

Is it lined up for ExpoEM, Railex or S4um anytime soon? No, I'm sorry to say. It has only two bookings at present: Wigan 2019 Bristol 2020 Steve.
