w124bob
Whilst searching a completely unconnected subject, this lovely pub image appeared. It has a look of Mr Nevard about it, so this got me thinking. As the title suggests a thread of buildings worth modelling, home or away that may appear on a layout one day.
westerner
I did consider building this as the cinema in my last layout Kingsbridge Regis. It's the Cinema in Sandwich Kent.
Steamport Southport
It just seems wrong that a historic cinema like that is showing a modern blockbuster. Good that it's still open of course. Jason

What a coincidence! My sister used to run the Brewers Arms in Brightlingsea. At first glance, I thought it was the place. Only the door placing and the windows gave it away. Uncanny. Ian. Karhedron
The old Unigate Creamery at Moreton-in-Marsh is a rather smart art-deco building that is thankfully still standing. I am not quite up to scratch-building it yet but an N Gauge approximation of it kit-bashed from a mix of Walthers, Peco and Ratio parts now resides on my Chew Magna layout. RMweb Premium Ian Morgan Posted March 7, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 7, 2018 Here is one I made in 2mm/ft scale for a model of Bognor Regis we started in the early 1990's. Unfortunately, the layout had to be abandoned before completion, for various reasons. A pity, I was looking forward to building the Picturedrome on the opposite corner: 'Picturedrome' is written in stained glass on the front of the canopy: Ian Morgan Hampshire
grahame
I find a lot of buildings of interest and consider many worth modelling. I'm currently making a lot of buildings but constantly have to restrict and remind myself to stick to those necessary for the layout project. G. Black Marlin
I always thought the Palace Hotel, in Inverness, was a lovely-looking building:This photo of Best Western Inverness Palace Hotel & Spa is courtesy of TripAdvisor Edited March 10, 2018 by Black Marlin
RMweb Gold colin penfold Posted March 10, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 10, 2018 I like this nice compact coaching inn at Dorchester Upon Thames Hopefully it's going to find its way onto my new 7mm scale project.

Malcolm Carlsson had an artcle on this building in Scale Model Trains back in 1992, with scale drawings. It is a building I may do myself(hence why I have kept the drawings). Giles Barnabe had a series of articles in MRN with some nice drawings of buildings. I have done one, a pub in Twickenham(?) as a 3D printed model. As for a cinema there are drawings for the old Gaiety Cinema in East Twickenham in Scale Model Trains (April 1995). Nice small building with an interesting front. salmonpastures
Am really glad I found this thread. This is a building I have always wanted to model. From my hometown of Sheffield. It was situated in the heart of the steelworks and had odd licensing hours to accomodate the shift workers. I took my wife in there one Sunday lunchtime just for the fun of it. The locals were impressed,,, and every sentence came with an apology. Anyone that has been in a steel mens pub will know exactly what I mean!!! Sadly no longer a pub,,, probably due to the fact that there are very few steel works surrounding it.

SM42
Always liked this unassuming building. I was in a group stopped by the police when we measured it up one evening. They thought if highly amusing when we explained what wete doing it was was coal merchants in those days https://maps.app.goo.gl/WU39ForHFmMm5VEw8 Andy

RMweb Gold phil_sutters Posted March 5 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 5 I am fairly sure that there is another thread with similar content, to which I added some photos - about two or three years ago - could be more. This is one from my days working in London. It is not far from London Bridge station and has been used as a film location on a number of occasions.
AyJay
Although this image taken from Streetview does not look that promising, I have found when travelling through Wallingford, that this row of shop fronts is just crying out to be modelled. I find the differences in the roofs is particularly impressive. But I think I would leave out the cheeky traffic cone. https://www.instantstreetview.com/@51.601066,-1.123135,127.16h,-2.73p,1z,y7eKVBPeR8-yqS6eyCUPfA Edited March 6 by AyJay
