Where is there any pics of these new 33s?

Hi Owentherail,

You could try keeping an eye open here:

http://www.Heljan.dk/shop/news-ALL-1.html

I believe this is the New Products list (I don't speak the language but looks like it is...).  There are some artworks for new 33s towards the bottom and on page 2 (click 'Naeste-->' to scroll through).  I looked up the NSE one but cannot see it yet though.

Hope that helps?

Cheers,

Ixion.

I tried the google translate for the word 'nyhed' which appears against the BR green models. The word means novelty/something new, which rather contradicts the info that the models are sold out in most UK shops. Easiest thing to do is to contact Heljan for confirmation....job for AM tomorrow.

HI All

I just wondered, Does anyone know the complete list of 33s please that will be releases or is it just 33114 and the Burma Star?

If nothing else, 114 is a good addition, as thats going for silly money like a few people have said already

Thanks

Mark

What, still no 33/1 in 70s / early 80s blue with no headlight and no orange cantrail?

Didnt the issue of 33117 fit this bill?

I have never really had an issue with the 33/0, but then, in the garden, I dont view them up cose & personal. I have created 33027 & 33056 from 33025 - I couldnt wait for Heljan to get around to it!!

None of the recently announced Class 33s are shown on the Heljan website. Some 33s may be shown as "new" on the website but they've all be on sale in the UK for some time and could presumably still be ordered by retailers.

Of these recent 33/1s, 33119 was banger blue without headlight but with orange cantrail stripe http://www.hattons.co.uk/166912/Heljan_3349_Class_33_1_33119_in_BR_Blue_with_full_yellow_ends/StockDetail.aspx

whereas 33102 was the same but with headlight http://www.hattons.co.uk/166913/Heljan_3356_Class_33_1_33102_in_BR_Blue_with_full_yellow_ends/StockDetail.aspx

I can't find anything that says how the new 33103 and 33111 will be.

They look lovely especially the weathering. I see these are from the earlier tooling, but the grey roof paint scheme hides the shallow roof. On the newer version I guess the horn covers (easy to fix) and the extra roof panel (a challenge to hide) are going to stand out.

Let's hope they aren't the same, I've a feeling 103 mite be as preserved.

Did any of the 33/1 receive a headlight whilst blue?. I'm quite interested in the BR green Fawley pack with class B tankers that Hattons are advertising with D6501. I believe this Crompton went straight from plain green to blue and am hoping the model comes without a warning panel.

D6501 will be in green without a yellow warning panel in the set, as will D6504, but available individually. D6540 will have a yellow panel. Hope this helps.

According to photos on Kernow's website, the new 33103 (but the image is numbered 33106) will have the orange cantrail stripe, but 33111 will be without it. The images are side on so you can't see whether or not there is a headlight.

Would it be correct to assume that these new Heljan 33's are the ones that Rail Exclusive originally put all the work/research into.......or not ?

Nope. The Burma Star (still 33056) of Rail Exclusives was in the later sectorisation livery. Rail Exclusives were selling them as pairs. Once things finished between them and Heljan on this project, there was a mail (I had ordered that pair) saying they were going to get a source to do the ultimate 33. We did get a mail about the new Suttons class 24 but I personally was not interested in that. Still have fine hopes of a Suttons 33.

Yes, that would be nice!

The Rail Exclsive pair and the Kernow 205 Thumper NSE were going to be my first locos in DCC (and sound at that). Helas it was not to be, the Kernow NSE thumper did appear but was £200 just for the unit by then, so I brought one of the previous ones in plain DC mode.

Roll on a couple of years, I finally got a discounted Hornby sound fitted Class 08 followed a couple of months later by a Bachmann class 40 and I then added sound myself to a 37.

My first (and currently) only class 33 fitted with sound was a Howes bargain £180 job a couple of years later using a 33/0 from Heljans first run with the revised tooling. Though I hope to add sound to my slim jim at some point.

As 33056 Burma Star - which I would see daily at Gillingham Kent station on a daily basis in blue with grey roof - was the best Crompton ever (don't ask me how, it just was ok?) - this will get a lot of special treatment.

3311 looks to be cantrail- and headlight-free, and the information says "Era 7 BR Corporate Blue Post-TOPS: 1972-1982", so this might indeed what I'm looking for.

This is 33106, no headlight but with cantrail stripe.

For exact clarification none of these latest releases will feature a headlight and only 33009, 33106, 33111 and  #3344 33114 feature cantrail stripes.

Exact liveries are as follows for clarification.

#1098 D6501 green livery in set with four B tanks numbered 3332,3333,3334,3335 in full original Esso black livery with full lettering (1960-1967 era)

#1099 6584 blue full yellow ends with four B tanks numbered 3375,3376,3377,3378 in Esso black livery with emblem but without full lettering as of that era (1967-1974)

#3317 D6504 green livery (1960-1967 era)

#3318 D6518 green full yellow ends with white waistrail stripe extending full length of bodyside (1967-1972 era)

#3319 D6540 green with small yellow panels (1965-1972 era)

#3437 D6558 blue full yellow ends livery (1966-1972 era)

#3438 33056 blue livery with grey roof as originally applied on naming (1980's era)

So both 33/1s in BR blue will have the cantrail stripe, despite the image of 33111 released by Heljan shows it without? Sorry but that’s silly doing both the same. Lost sale as far as I’m concerned. Edited by brushman47544

Last minute change that I had not been aware of from the original colour layouts of two weeks ago. 33111 is now not having a cantrail stripe....................so you can now buy one!
