There was a time when the railroads would trade-in their knackered units for new ones. As one picture caption put it, going back to the factory where you were made was kinda like driving to your own funeral. And bits might be re-used, particularly trucks (bogies in UK-speak) so knocking a bit more off the price.

It's one of the advantages of Kadee couplers - you can lift stock out of a train without any problem. Can't do that with Tension-locks.

There is quite a few rarities in there ,if it was over here preservation would snap them up

I wonder if the shed is also full of loco's

 

 

Simple answer is yes

 

Lots of other stuff also
