RMweb Gold farren Posted January 20, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted January 20, 2021 First go with HMRS lining And already much better than I managed with fox lining which went in the bin. Ok it’s a bit wavy but quite good at 3 ft so I’m happy with it and I can only get better... hopefully.
RMweb Premium Barry O Posted January 21, 2021 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 21, 2021 make sure you varnish over them when you are happy with the lining. I had a strange experience with some ages ago.. now back to using a pen and paint to do them. BUT these coaches look great Farren! Congratulations! RMweb Gold farren Posted January 27, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted January 27, 2021 (edited) Thank you Barry O, I had some Matt varnish used on the PI CK but I’m not happy with it up close it’s a bit spotty, so silk varnish from Rail match ordered. The 2nd side of lining done on three and the second CK stripped so hinges and alarm gear can be fitted. waiting for 3 coach kits from wizard but their chassis for the stoves R has turn up. As the Dapol model is awful at staying on the track. oh and door vents now cut and painted ready to be glued on one as already been done, for anyone thinking I’d forgotten about them Edited January 27, 2021 by farren
RMweb Gold farren Posted January 30, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted January 30, 2021 (edited) Well a fresh kit so, so I could put into practice what Iain showed me me. A BTK Diagram 1851. Door handles will be fitted after its painted. The frames standard Comet with Bachman bogies. I seem to be collecting a stash of comet bogies minus the fitting but and bolt. RMweb Gold farren Posted January 30, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted January 30, 2021 Oh I know I forgot them on the BCK and went ‘oh dear! What a shame’ or something along those lines.
RMweb Gold farren Posted January 31, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted January 31, 2021 A bit of tidying but a improvement on previous builds.
RMweb Gold farren Posted February 3, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted February 3, 2021 (edited) Finished the BTK just needs windows fitting and a spray of varnish when it arrives. Oh and door handles. Started a BCK a Diagram 1720A a Stanier rebuild. a couple of photos Edited February 23, 2021 by farren
RMweb Gold farren Posted February 23, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted February 23, 2021 (edited) The BCK 1720a nearly finished transfers all added and silk topcoat applied just needs its windows and door handles fitting along with the BTK. No LMS crest for theBCK model as the image of the prototype shows that 6767 didn’t have one. Edited February 23, 2021 by farren 5
