RMweb Premium Dava Posted April 30, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 30, 2018 I hope the event goes well. Sadly the Friends of the GC Main Line and the Bridge layout have not been invited this year, and 30 June concides with our AGM in Loughborough, though we worked round that last year. However our stand will be at the GCR Model Gala on 15-17 June. http://www.gcrailway.co.uk/modelevent/

GWC1
Netherwood sidings will be there with our latest 76, now fitted with sound! The sound files were recorded from a real pair of class 76 horns (as my neighbours will testify, having recorded it in the back garden running off a compressor).

Looking forward to seeing Netwerwood again, I’ve only seen it the once and at Quorn and didn’t get that much of a chance to have a proper look then! srihaggis
Hope the event goes well Dave and the revenue continues to build, the past 3 years of organising were a pleasure. Hopefully with the advent of the new bus depot it'll make for some more interestingly shaped layouts/bigger footprint availability etc. Might drop by tomorrow as i've never actually been as a visitor before. andyram
Made it to the show with my daughter today. A good mix of traders across the two main sheds. There were some nice layouts with the night time scene on Annesley Woodhouse being one of the stand outs. We managed a ride around the miniature railway. Sadly the sunny weather had made the seats too hot for my daughter sit on on the first train we boarded. As result we switched to another train where the driver had had the foresight to cover the seats with towels to make them cooler to sit on. Unfortunately it meant travelling behind a diesel instead of the live steam Jubilee model. We also had a pleasant run on the full size service up to Loughborough Junction which took up a large part of our visit. All in all it was a nice day out. Congrats to the organisers. A shame the show seemed quiet. I suspect the high temperatures had kept quite a few people away although the size of the site makes it difficult to judge.
