I knew about the 149 going to the Cally as I have a photo I knew the G&SWR had one but the rest are a bit of a mystery.

I have been told recently  that the tanks built before 1870 were box tanks and I was sent a sketch and a few photos.  Including one showing the back head. its tapered and of a larger diameter to the later tanks. The fitting all seam to line up with the later ones but the shape is different. I'm now looking at 3 different types

  1. Pre 1870 12inch box tank 3ft6 wheel
  2. post 1870 12inch piano tank 3ft6 wheel
  3. post 1890 12inch  3ft2 wheel

There are no wheels for any of them. There is a 3ft7 wheel but it doesn't have the correct centres for any of them.

I repainted and weathered this Hattons 16-inch Barclay for someone else. The smokebox door handles were missing so I made some dogs and a Staveley Ironworks-style door handle.

This is another that I did for the owner of the one above.

This is my 3d printed narrow gauge gasworks Barclay in 2mm scale.

988 from 1903

I am not sure of the lighter green in preservation as being the original so on my first attempt I have gone for a dark green

Its based on those made for Edinburgh/Granton gasworks.

Maybe a little off topic but do any of you Barclay experts out there have any info about original livery of Barclay locos?

Keen to know opinions of the livery/colour of the narrow gauge locos from new as per attached picture and of course the far left standard gauge loco which I think is 1036 from 1904.

Difficult to find any reference material , especially in lockdown!

Here are some pictures of Devonport Dockyard No.18. It’s a Hattons chassis and Light Railway Stores cab and transfers. I’ve got a long rake of dockyard wagons already so I’ve paired them up here. I’m relatively happy with the finished product but I may replace one transfer after it came away during handling, it also needs a stay-alive for some more momentum. I’ve got a Harry’s Hobbies kit and Hornby chassis to build the Devonport Bagnall and another hattons chassis for a second AB, but I’ll need a different number plate to the one LRS supply. The Wasp stripes were unique to 18 so I won’t need to repeat them too (I took these pics before they arrived so you’ll have to trust me that I added them...)

I'm a wee bit of an Andrew Barclay nut, I've got about 40 models in total but these are my two favourites, a (very rare) ARC models 12' kit built a few years ago. I built it to look like 'Balmenach' no. 2020 in its current dismal state as I wanted to experiment with rust and weathering at the time.

The other loco is a part scratchbuilt 16' 0-6-0. The tank and boiler are from a redundant DJH kit I had. This loco was built this year by my friend over at Purbeck Works on Facebook.
